ONE Industries Atom Shorts and Atom Icon jersey

ONE Industries, who came into the mountain bike scene from a motocross background around four years ago, recently introduced their new Atom range. The Atom shorts are constructed from a four-way stretch polyester that is moisture wicking, and have a total of five pockets, including two open hip pockets, two zipped thigh pockets and one small velcro thigh pocket. There are belt loops, an elastic/velcro waist band and a zip fly. They are supplied with a chamois liner that uses a basic buttoned loop attach to the outer shorts. The Atom Icon jersey is made from a sublimated polyester that is moisture wicking, anti-microbial and has a UV protection treatment. The sleeves are raglan style and the collar stretches for comfort. To finish off, there's a hidden micro-fiber optic wipe near the right hip. The shorts are sized from 28" up to 38" in 2" increments. Available in khaki, red, grey or black at $79.99 USD. Jerseys are sized S, M, L, XL, XXL in grey, red or black at $39.99 USD. ONE Industries

ONE Industries Atom Shorts - Trails to Ales
ONE say that this is the"perfect short for going from the trails to the pub for a cold one after a hot ride."

ONE Industries Atom Jersey
Purple camouflage, at last.
ONE Industries Atom Short pockets
Zipped, mesh pockets keep the weight down. A handy sleeve in the main pocket was perfect for my multi-tool which prevents it bouncing around.

Pinkbike's Take:
bigquotes I put plenty of warm weather riding time in wearing this lightweight and simple combo, and it proved to be up to the task. The jersey's short sleeves are good for building a farmer tan, and the cut is more fitted compared to ONE's previous offerings. The shorts are simple, with a good amount of stretch and plenty of length at the knee. The belt loops are handy and the velcro waist adjustment worked well, but you can lose the ends into the shorts if you're not careful, similar to what happens when you lose a cord on a hoodie. The secondary pocket that's found inside the main pocket was the perfect size for my multi-tool to prevent it from bouncing around, and the other small pocket worked well for banknotes so you always have something for a pint. If you live anywhere near mud, light grey isn't the best choice as the stains didn't come out in the wash, but overall the Atom outfit covers all the bases in warm climates and has been my go-to riding kit over the last few months. - Paul Aston.

I bought a pair of these shorts and they SUCK!! The inseam 4" longer than suggested, waist 2 sizes too big, liner like a diaper and the material was thin as crap!

I returned them in place of some TroyLee "Skyline Race" shorts; MUCH BETTER!!

Have a couple pairs of their shorts that came with chamois liners. The sizing is accurate in my experience, the liners however, horrible! Fit like a diaper with a load in it, and the elastic was crap right from the get-go. Unfortunately TLD isn't much better in my recent experience, Skylines fell apart after a couple months, and they were about a size smaller than advertised.

I think Skylines are awesome. They fit incredibly comfortable, and the length is just perfect...

Just curious, what made them fall apart so quickly?

The velcro on the waist band adjusters came un-bonded from the rubber, then the snaps stopped snapping, the zipper stopped zipping, and sticting ws getting pretty tattered. Sucks because they're otherwise a decent pair of shorts.

I have similar One Industries shorts and they are the worst shorts I have even owned. They feel cheap, the pockets are pathetic and the poppers (WHY????) are as bad as they get. Buy something else.

 "Riding shorts": $79.99.

"Performance Shorts" at Costco: $14.99.

I do not understand this.

 quality:
/ˈkwälədē/

noun: quality; plural noun: qualities

1. the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something.

"an improvement in product quality"

"this shit doesn't tear when i ride cause its quality"

Without a side by side comparison you can't say which is of higher quality. I'm glad to see that you can read though. Personally, a dictionary wouldn't be my first choice but that's a good start brah.

Ok @topherdagopher reviews.costco.com/2070/100031410/design-in-motion-inc-kirkland-signature-men-s-performance-short-black-reviews/reviews.htm here you go. I'll be willing to go out on a limb and say these are better quality. Plus it sounds like the pockets are better. While I'm all for saving a buck on clothes parts etc that get by just fine, don't understand why in skiing and biking circles there is a group who considers themselves cooler or "more core" by wearing costco or carhartts brand clothing. Fine if that's your thing, just don't understand why these types feel the need to tell everyone.

"These types"? Wow...... We's-types call it like we see it. No "need to tell everyone", we just do. Must be scary for "your type".

It really doesn't matter what you wear or what you spend. If it feels comfortable and increases confidence, then it's good.

I thought raglan sleeves went below elbows?
  • 2 0
A raglan sleeve is a type of sleeve whose distinguishing characteristic is to extend in one piece fully to the collar, leaving a diagonal seam from underarm to collarbone giving the garment a relatively undefined look. Commonly seen in non-formal fashion, it is popular in sports and exercise wear. It is named after FitzRoy James Henry Somerset, the 1st Baron Raglan, who is said to have worn a coat with this style of sleeve after the loss of his arm in the Battle of Waterloo. -Wikipedia
