Yeah, I have been to their HQ in Morgan Hill, and was not impressed by their "We are the BEST bicycle company in the world" attitude.
I do respect what they do, but show a little humility. You're not the best, Specialized.

Sad to see Specialized stabbing their LBS dealers in the back, but it's not surprising.
I have worked in shops that sell both Specialized and Trek and I thought that Trek was just a better company all around.
Specialized makes some really great stuff, but they have slowly been turning into an electric moped company.
Does anyone pedal uphill anymore? I still do.

@Tambo: Yeah, it's about keeping the weight down. Carbon is very light and quite tough. Backed by foam, It can take some pretty big hits and protect you from having to buy a new frame. (Rock strikes usually not covered by warranty)
The problem is that it is expensive!
I see a lot of guys strapping old tires to their frames which works well for protection, but that adds a lot of weight.

@iammarkstewart:
Hey Thanks! A project of passion more than trying to make a profit.
Yeah, it's expensive to buy and time consuming on my end to produce and I am very busy with my day job, so I haven't marketed it really.
But it doesn't seem so expensive after you crack a frame due to a rock strike!
