Video: 'Omigod, Running is Boring' - Mountain Bikers in Quarantine with IFHT
@chyu: that is such a myth. Running huge mileage, or EVERY single day with no recovery time is what injures the cartilage. But any activity can injure you if overdone. Runners do to tend to overdo it though. The actual data is that running keeps your knees healthy, as long as it’s just every other day ( or even less frequent if your older) so the cartilage can respond to the stress and regenerate. However, cycling can be done more often without knee Injury, because it’s lower impact. I run 2-3 times a week, ride once or twice a week, also some weightlifting. I’m 49. More running and less riding when it’s hot and dry and trails are blown out(SoCal). If I DONT run, my knees tend to hurt as well as my back. Cross training is healthy!

Review: Teravail's New Kessel Tire is a Worthy Contender
Put a 2.5 Kessel on the front of my Rune. I really like it. Similar to minion, knobs are taller so more bite but slower rolling. Not quite as much of a gap between center and side knobs, but that’s good. It corners great, you can really put your weight on the side knobs. Not as bouncy as maxxiss, and the rubber compound seems to sit between maxxis max terra and maxxgrip. 2.5” wide at tread, 2.35” at carcass on a 29mm wide rim. Great, squareish profile.

Review: Ride Concepts Powerline Flat Pedal Shoes
Just did a first ride with my new Rc Powerlines. I had a pair of Hellions for the last year, which still have some life left; much more than ive ever gotten out of a five ten. I have very wide feet and five tens were narrow, the hellions were better but still a tad narrow but a very comfortable midsole with some cushion. the Powerline has a lot more volume, I really like the fit I even had to wear thicker socks! Very comfortable and the grip was just fine on rocky Laguna trails. Rubber seems like a great mix of grippy yet durable, and I cant believe the upper wouldnt be as durable as the hellion. So far my favorite riding shoe ever!

Review: Marzocchi's New Z1 Coil Fork - The Return of a Classic
Only 4 different springs? Even the 5 most forks have don’t overlap enough. I’ve been between springs on a couple of coil forks, including my current mrp ribbon(on the firm w/zero preload which is a tad too firm, the med was too soft even at max preload and who wants max preload anyway?). One in between would be perfect. So annoying. Coil rear shocks generally have 10 different springs rates to cover almost all rider weights/leverage ratios with a close overlap so riders can fine tune the ride height without excessive preload. Forks, which are more important for how the bike rides, get 4-5 it’s just stupid. Just cheaping out I guess.
