SNAKE !!

Saturday morning started just like any other day off. Heading out to Thumb Butte part to ride trails 316-317 loop. Half way through going down a super fast section, hitting little jumps on a roller coaster and scared as hell ! (that's why we ride right ...?). Came over a jump and a rattle snake was on my landing ! His rattles were on the left side of the trail and his body disappeared into the bushes on the right. Knowing something about snakes having grown up in Arizona, I knew snakes cant strike very well when their not coiled, Small relief but its still a f*cking rattler !
I don't think I hit it very hard but I wasn't going to turn around to see. My heart rate was already elevated but know it exploded ! Every second of my Wilderness First Responder class came rushing back, but a split second later, I'm launching off the next jump and thinking "Bring it on !"
Ha ha, what a rush !!
