After a 2 year hiatus, the Owl's Head was back on the Quebec Cup Circus for the second round of the 2016 series. Located on the border of the Memphremagog Lake, Owl's Head not only had a great view to offer the racers but also one of the best downhill race courses of the province. This year's track saw some interesting changes adding more flow and new features. And then there was the weather... An Owl's Head classic and a real Mud Fest! Funny fact: Owl's Head never held a race in dry conditions...
About 90 racers from Quebec, Ontario and even Nova Scotia attended. The weather forecast certainly scared a few others to come but those who were there knew that it was going be a great weekend.
Jacob Langlois throwing some style down the midway wooden ramp.
Cycles Performance's Liam Rourke railing his way down the ruts filled track.
Francis Perron is at his first Elite season and he keeps impressing. He came 5th on the weekend.
The Kona/Trees rider Audrée Vaillancourt was looking strong during practice. Sending most of the big stunts, she was aiming for the win. Unfortunately, she had a crash in her race run and even lost one of her shoes. She came second behind Maxine Bergeron who is getting faster at every event.
Benjamin Després-Morin is one to watch on the national scene. Fastest Elite men of the weekend. He came down with a clean run where other couldn't succeed.
Like if he wasn't over of being soaked wet all weekend, nothing better than a bucket of cold water for Benjamin.
Overall a great weekend full of smiles, fun, and mud! Owl's Head will definitely be back on the circuit for 2017!
