Team Major Cycles joins Banshee Bikes

Team Major Cycles is proud to announce a new partnership with Banshee Bikes. The completely revamped team will attend most of the remaining World Cups, the Canada Cups, the Crankworx in Whistler and many local events such as the BC Cups and the Quebec Cups. Mainly focussing on DH, the team will also attend couple enduro races across Canada and United States.

Team Banshee / Major Cycles consists of two fast canadian racers; Sam Thibault (Bromont, QC) and the current Junior Canadian National Champion, Daniel Shaw (North Vancouver, BC). The management side of things will be handled by Bastien Major.

"I’ve always been impressed by Banshee’s engineering behind their products and being able to work closely with them in order to develop and help with feedbacks for the new version of the legendary Legend is something great! Sam and Dan will both be good test riders for the new DH bike and we look forward to a solid season of development, testing and racing!" - Bastien Major, Team Manager

"We are stoked to welcome these guys on our program this season. They will do great presence for us in many events all across North America and even on the World Cup stage. We look forward to a great season and we can’t wait to reveil more about our new 650B Legend! Stay tuned!" - Dennis Beare, Banshee Bikes Brand Manager

Loveing my banshee spitfire, can be run as 26" or 27.5", adjustable geometry, efficient pedal design and most importantly fun. Whats not to like?

 My thoughts exactly!

The Banshee Legend has been in the prototype stage longer than it has been in any form of production. "Legend" in their own minds. Notwithstanding, Daniel and Sam are very deserving of the support.

They prototyped it for two years when it csme out first, stayed the same for ages after that, now they're making a 650B version. Wouldn't you prefer that to "pre-production" frame issues due to rushed testing??

The original Legend was in development/prototype for well over 2 years! It was prematurely launched, had bushing and pivot problems, then comes out the Legend 2, huge delay in production. I just wondering how long the 650b will be in prototype stage.

no bushings have ever been in this frame, you're confusing it with the smaller-travel banshees i think.

The Legend Mk1 ran on IGUS polymer bushings with aluminium alloy axles. The Legend's bushing problem is well documented. Check the Pinkbike's archives and you will see numerous comments about production delays and manufacturing problems.

wasn't the MK1 just the preproduction 60 bikes? or did they release the mk1 to market?

The MkI was never purchasable by the general public. It was the prototype. The MkII was the first general release frame. It had bushings.

"Perhaps one of he biggest changes to the MK2 over the MK 1 is that these new pivots no loner use bushings but big INA cartridge bearings. The axles are now titanium as well."

Man, I accidently had a brain fart. Meant to type bearings haha.
Mk2 definitely had bearings.
And all but six (?) Mk1s had bushes.

I had a MkI and Mk2 is on the way Smile
