What happens when you have been a rider for ten-eleven years, you've raced a fare bit during those years, you've worked at bike shops, you ride every chance possible, riding being a major part of your life, then you get the opportunity to go tour and ride with the guys at one of the leading bike brands in the world? DREAMS COME TRUE. So here is a bit of a tour of the Specialized headquarters in Morgan Hill, California.
Hello Specialized!
One of the things I have learned over the past couple of season's, that I have been in contact with the guys at Specialized, is the passion that these guys have for quality of there product, RIDING and the bike community in general. They have devoted much resource to the training of there dealers, in retail, bike fitment, in store set up, repairs and maintenance. The SBCU classes that they have set do just that. And the list can go on of there devotion to improving the riders experience on a bike, both before and after the sale.
As Sam showed us around the facilities here in Morgan Hill, I was impressed by how much the company help's and support's the employee's that work there. The gym was awesome, the massive lunch time rides would be amazing, the brainstorming room, the pump track out back is super fun. It seems like it would be a rad place to work for sure.
We were super stoked to check out the machine shop, suspension labs, paint booth, and really see the operations. They really do have a rad set up for the proto-typing and designing that is done in house. We were able to see some paint schemes that are awesome, but were unable to make the cut for production.
This tour of the facilities was awesome. We were amazed at how much actually goes into making a bike from start to finish. It is a surprisingly large process.
We have to thank the guys that helped us set up this tour, showed us around and also showed us the local trails. Thanks to Buck, Sam, Brandon, Cippy, Alain and all the guys at Specialized, it was a rad few days for sure.
Until next time,
Brett
