Cycles Performance DH Team - September

Last month of racing for 2016!

B-Maaxx finals

The final and third B-Maaxx of the year was held mid-september, with a similar track of the previous one, except the upper part was in the 52 track (jumps and berms). Then, crossing the ski track under the chairlift, we were heading back in the 51 in a tricky flat/off-camber turn. At the end of the practice session, a really loose berm was formed, allowing riders to turn more aggressively.

Race results:
Hugo Langevin - 1st Pro
Andy Thibodeau - 7th Pro
Simon Chapdelaine - 15th Pro
Liam Rourke - 18th Pro
Simon Ayotte - 3rd Expert
Marc-André Phaneuf - 4th Expert

Last B-Maaxx also meant the overall was played on that race. In the Expert category it was a tight one, and in Pro Hugo took 2nd place with only 2 races (2 wins). As for Andy Thibodeau, he proves once more that he still has it!

Overall results:
Hugo Langevin - 2nd Pro
Andy Thibodeau - 4th Pro
Simon Chapdelaine - 10th Pro
Liam Rourke - 19th Pro
Simon Ayotte - 1st Expert
Marc-André Phaneuf - 2nd Expert

Vallée du Parc Quebec Championships/Quebec Cup finals

Again this year the Quebec championships was held on the VDP track, which was fast. Pat Pratte did a really good job organizing this event as always!
Weather was on our side although a bit cold, but no rain meant fast rolling dirt. The hard packed dirt meant the final jumps were coming faster than usual, and we saw some riders long overshoot the last jump (including Hugo and Andy who took big spills on Saturday practice). Hugo was ok to ride on Sunday but not at 100%, and Andy suffered an ankle injury.

Race results
Liam Rourke - 2nd Junior (Quebec Champion)
Hugo Langevin - 4th Elite
Simon Chapdelaine - 15th Elite
Andy Thibodeau - DNS
Marc-André Phaneuf - 4th Expert
Simon Ayotte - 6th Expert

Unfortunately one of our rider couldn't finish the season with us. After a strong first race at Tremblant, Max Giguère suffered an injury and had to take it easy the remaining of the season. Max is a super positive guy and always stoked to ride. Health issues held him back the past years, but we are pleased to have him.

This was our last season with as the Cycles Performance Team. We are already busy looking for a worthy partner for the next seasons to come.

We want to thank Stephane Mailhot who made it all happen in the Gravité Sport era, and to Claude Bernier who continued to support us in the Cycles Performance years. Many thanks to Guillaume at S4 Suspension, JF Blais at Trek, and many other at Royal Racing, Crankbrothers and Raceface.
