Blenki is absolutely flying this season.

Way back in February he bagged the win at the Oceania Championships, before turning his attention to Crankworx Rotorua and winning that too.

To carry on that great form, Sam headed to San Romolo a few weeks before the first Downhill World Cup in Lošinj – to tune up and maybe even enjoy some Italian winter sun.

What he found instead were huge rain clouds, slippery rocks and massive amounts of mud.

We followed him to check out his drenched and dramatic training sessions.

At the end of the day, even over some of the most treacherous tracks in Italy, Blenki still flew.

Sending it through the slippery rocks of San Romolo.

At the end you're having so much fun, you're like a kid.

The most difficult thing is to get out and get wet.

Faster than the photographer.

No other words needed.

My favourite part was how the video effects ruined the video.....

seems like a good edition solution to clips shot in portrait

It seems we have different ideas on what constitutes "massive amounts of mud", and if you're going to put together an edit featuring Blenki you need more riding footage, way more.

Yeah the title got me stoked for wild hucks and sketchy bucks. But instead just a few bits of mildly moist cruising.

Huge Blenki fan, and I'm not one to poo poo free content - but that was a bit poo.

 "Content" = advertising
  • + 15
The editing doesn't do his riding any justice...

More like, Blenki rides Welsh tracks in middle of summer

It felt a little all over the place.

Bluegrass...dear sweet bluegrass. This promo video (if we can call it that) made everyone who watched this video think less, rather than more of, your brand. It's ok though, you swung the bat and that's admirable. Next time you'll do better.

I had no idea Blenki drank coffee until this video. Smile I thought it was a cool video, but as I was watching I kept thinking how this would get savaged in the comment section.

Yeah. Not really brand-level stuff production/content-wise, is it!? Distracting editing and the headline sets the bar WAY higher than the video delivers. And no, that is not treacherous and is barely mud. People who say free content should never be complained about, critical feedback is key to development and in the long term benefits everyone. Creators get better, we get better content. I remember some of LaRocque’s early stuff was already epic and that was just his personally motivated stuff.

The video, effects & editing were, not good... :/ Definitely needed more riding.
This is how you make a video / Sell you product,

My initial thoughts.... not that wet really.
  • + 3
Wow, that was poorly shot! And using Blenki's name as bait is wrong and immoral.
  • + 3
it may not be to your or my taste guys, but its a bit hash to shit on someones work in such a manner #shoeontheotherfoot
  • + 6
Agreed, but the hype set the bar a little high Razz

Fair comment, but this was basically an advert from one of his sponsors and if you're going to the trouble of going to a location to film (probably) your most stylish rider then showcase him to the best effect.
Thanks for the free content though, always good.

free content isn’t always good. @metaam:

Was expecting to see another good Blenki video, not something that an emo highschooler would make to be "different".
  • + 3
This video is an abysmal waste of Blinki’s talent.

 True title:
Sam drinks some coffee followed by a bit of DH

There was more effort in an explosive shit after a dirty burrito than that edit.
  • + 1
I thought it was intersting, nice to see something I've never seen before.
  • + 1
Love to watch this guy riding but this edit is...
  • + 1
 too short

 Big let down.
