Inaugural Pinnacle Bike Championship – Prize Purse and Event Passes
Agreed. But since it's on national forest land, there's no way they can bar you from that, despite what they want to claim. Simply hike in, from the access road if necessary.

Inaugural Pinnacle Bike Championship – Prize Purse and Event Passes
Anyone interested in going but put off by the annoying money-grubbing "event passes" ($25 to watch? WTF.) should try to just walk up the course for free. It's all on National Forest land, they can't ban you from doing so. There's a hiking trail up Tecumseh, that will have to be open, and from there just cut over to the trails. Unless you are using the WV facilities (e.g. lifts), there's no way they are allowed to restrict public access to WMNF land. In the winter, you can hike the mountain and ski for free, the same applies in the summer. Questions? Contact WMNF: http://www.fs.usda.gov/contactus/whitemountain/about-forest/contactus
