by Brad Nichols / Whistler Museum
Since 1982 when the first mountain bikes started to make their way up to Whistler, mountain biking has become a significant facet of Whistler's outdoor community. At the same time, our distinct biking scene has increasingly spread its influence throughout the MTB world.

To celebrate how far we've come and how we got here, the Whistler Museum is hosting our second annual Whistler Mountain Bike Heritage Week.

From May 16 - 22nd the Whistler Museum will bring you a series of presentations, film screenings, exhibits, workshops and more.

I remember hitting Whistler in the early '90s and they wouldn't let anyone near the mountain without a guide and you had to descend together in groups of 8. Don't get ahead of the group leader! Times have changed... for the better.
