But seriously. f*ck Cancer.
I would be simply asking for a few extra decal stickers for the bike so it doesn't matter if I covered the chainstay.
Bike is sexy beautiful
Back to your original statement. Your comment clearly indicates you are more concerned with your image of riding a pink bike and that you find more importance in the raffle then you do the cause at hand. And that is justified by your concern for the bike not coming in black.
Don't say that I lack a sense of humor because I do not. You however "as it appears" just have a stupid sense of humor.

"On the program side, I learned that Livestrong provides an innovative and expanding suite of direct services to help cancer survivors negotiate our Kafkaesque health care system. Beyond that, though, I found a curiously fuzzy mix of cancer-war goals like “survivorship” and “global awareness,” labels that seem to entail plastering the yellow Livestrong logo on everything from T-shirts to medical conferences to soccer stadiums. Much of the foundation’s work ends up buffing the image of one Lance Edward Armstrong, which seems fair—after all, Livestrong wouldn’t exist without him. But Livestrong spends massively on advertising, PR, and “branding,” all of which helps preserve Armstrong’s marketability at a time when he’s under fire. Meanwhile, Armstrong has used the goodwill of his foundation to cut business deals that have enriched him personally, an ethically questionable move.
“It’s a win-win,” says Daniel Borochoff, head of the American Institute of Philanthropy, a watchdog group. “He builds up the foundation, and they build up him.”
That sure is a win-win-situation ! Im on it !
Despite these favorable preliminary findings, U.S. government officials banished the study, and refused to fund any follow up research until conducting a similar – though secret – study in the mid-1990s. That study, conducted by the U.S. National Toxicology Program to the tune of $2 million concluded that mice and rats administered high doses of THC over long periods had greater protection against malignant tumors than untreated controls. However, rather than publicize their findings, government researchers shelved the results – which only became public one year later after a draft copy of its findings were leaked in 1997 to the journal AIDS Treatment News, which in turn forwarded the story to the national media.
Nevertheless, in the nearly eight years since the completion of the National Toxicology trial, the U.S. government has yet to fund a single additional study examining pot’s potential as an anti-cancer agent.

as well as cancer research though, the shop supports a local doctor, who is leading research into cancer at the hospital near where i live. It's now good to see him getting recognition and funding for what he does
In my country, for over years we have an intensive campaign made by a non-profitable organization (forget public or government) that has helped millions of womans with breast cancer. This kind of support (for non-profit orgs like Young Survival Coalition and IBCC) it's the only thing what make the difference for those victimized by this disease. Few dollars for us, millions of hope for many. I am in, always.
and... I wouldn't mind a new M9

I think research is always important but, in some cases, education and support for those victimized is the best destination to the money.
