On Thursday, May 24th at 12:00pm PST (9:00pm CET) Anthill Films will broadcast the online premiere of “STRENGTH IN NUMBERS” live on Pinkbike. This is going to be a unique global event in the world of mountain biking: Watch the film simultaneously with tens of thousands of people from every corner of the mountain bike world through the interactive, live online premiere – for free!
The online premiere reflects exactly the concept behind “STRENGTH IN NUMBERS”: a bike movie that is about how all sides of the mountain bike world are connected should be accessible to all mountain bikers! And this is what will make the online premiere such a unique event: Knowing that the global bike community will be sharing the same experience at the same time. Moreover there will be chance to chat with other fans as well as some of the movie’s riders and filmmakers.
Live online premiere show time by time zone: PST (Los Angeles) 12:00pm EST (New York) 03:00pm GMT (London) 08:00pm CET (Berlin) 09:00pm
deepcreek, if you look at the countdown it starts in 11 hrs or so which means for us its 5am ( unless i stuffed up). But that conflicts with the los angles time..
Downhill-Christy, Physics can wait; work out the energy they exert on jumps (mgh) and the wavelength of their bike colours and the refractive index of the camera lens (1.33, it always is).
^Well, when you release your awesome bike movie, let us know.
I personally took off work to watch this! So stoked! I told my wife that I cant be bothered from 1:00 on. Told her I needed some alone time with the computer. Ill be in the next room yelling "oh yah!" and "holy shit"! She is gonna think Im watching porn or something. In a way, I guess I will be....
@scott-townes saw the banner say "watch live now" like you say and clicked it like a good'en but it just took me to this page... oh well, waiting game now!
"ride bikes instead of going to school" worst advice ever. I dig as much, if not more than most, but i still know how to prioritize my shit. Despite this it is an epic film, top work anthill.
I wrote an essay in 19 miutes so i could watch this live.... It was well worth it. Loved the feel of the utah seggy with the more original freeride music
Poutiainen...Anthill films are like Classic Rock/Metal albums. The first watch/listen their good, but not great, but they grow on you and have infinite replay value. If I had known PB was going to play this all day I wouldn't have "gotten sick"...but after the fourth viewing I'm glad I did. Thanks Pinkbike!
"I'm waking up I FEEL IT IN MY BONES, Something Something Something Something, welcome to the new age welcome to the new age Something Something Something" YEAH !!!
Good movie, but I'm kind of sick of the same old. And way too much pseudo-philosophical talking about the spirituality or whatever of mountain biking and all that. Not sure abut some of the music either (anyone seen thats it thats all btw?). In summation it was alright.
Watched it so many times since yesterday that I feel obligated to purchase a copy lol. These days you don't get anything for free, I wonder who's behind this and what's the profit - if any.
Sito - since it's on PB and PB is associated everyone who comes on the site generates income from advertisers, plus the inevitable dvd sales from everyone who want to own it, like yourself. Lots of albums are released for free under a similar premise. People want to know what they're getting before they buy so it'll work very much in their favour.
Also there's always going to be those who will never purchase the DVD and this will hopefully help curb the interest in illegal downloading. I was never going to buy the movie myself but now that I've seen it multiple times, I won't be tempted to go and download it. I'm watching it again right now actually, haha.
Yeah I agree! this is the proper way to solve the piracy problem for everyone , not just corporations. let everyone watch for free and if they want to get it in much higher quality , let em buy the DVD/Blu-ray if they wish. It seems fair enough. Better than forcing DRM or crazy copyright laws I tell ya
scott-townes that is some interesting logic, if you've already watched it for free then why is downloading it a bad thing? That makes no sense. I mean downloading something is not a bad thing per se, it's only bad if you download what you would otherwise have bought. Which for me is not much.
cheeselord, you know how torrents work, right? Well they only exist if there's a lot of people that are downloading/seeding it. You could always be pessimistic saying well f*ck it, torrents will still be around. I like to think that I'm one less person contributing to the problem though.
Well downloading this , to be honest , would not hurt them in the slightest since they've already been paid/reimbursed for the work. ..after that is DVD sales. A person downloading wouldn't have bought the film anyways because he/she never wanted it bad enough to pay for it.... so It's not a lost sale because there was never going to be one in the first place. What we're seeing right here is great because you can see for yourself if it's worth the money. But cheeselord is right. Downloading now would make no difference since we've already seen it for free.
but then again you would be without all the extras , the packaging and that sick box to stick up on the bike movie collection shelf. bike movies are always worth the money IMO.
Okay so explain why LOADS of people in these comments have watched it on here and are now downloadin it off of itunes. Just because it 'makes no difference' if it's downloaded or not doesn't mean it should be available to pirate
Then it will go on youtubes and be free... I really like what compression did, release the movie for 6 months, then just upload it online when sales slowed down so everyone could see it free.
I refuse to buy a product only to have to shell out more to play it on my other devices , you know? I hate buying things more than once if it's digital goods. That's what itunes often forces you to do. So I disagree , everything should always be available to download. Just buy the blu-ray , then torrent a blu-ray rip of the movie to put on your other devices instead of forking up even more money. That way you paid for the movie but you can still have freedom. Nothing wrong with that
Please explain your logic there? Any media on itunes can be put on any device. If you own the blu ray, you can rip it and put it on any device you own. You don't need to buy it several times
You cant play it on your tv easily, and shit like that i think is what he is getting at. Also itunes incompatibility with other devices, for example a blackberry, or something. I dont know, but i get what he means. Also itunes thing if you delete it you have to buy it again, i know if you loose a disk same deal, but with digital goods it just doesn't feel right, bit of a piss take (admittedly itunes have rectified this in the last year, but they dont make it easy to get your stuff back and dont tell you about it)
if you've purchased anything from itunes, you can download it as many times as you want with no further charge, i'd forgotten i'd bought angry birds 3 years ago and was pleasantly surprised when i learnt this
Don't get me wrong here but By other devices I mean other than freakin' apple products. You can't play it on other tablets. can't play it on my Zune because I can't convert due to DRM. can't play it on my PSVITA or PSP...you get it. I also had a time where I owed them money so they disabled all my songs and videos until I paid them back. the sum was 0.99 :/ now nothing can be dragged into my ipod. ever. and not everyone can simply rip blu-ray. Ripping a multi-level bluray is no joke. It's easier to just download it. Why pay twice for the same thing. Downloading something you paid for before hand is totally fine as long as you use it just for yourself.
I get that it is perfectly fine for you, but because of your demand on downloading it, there are people out there who will upload it and inevitably there will be people along the way who will download it from that same person without paying for it in the first place. I also see your point with the apple thing. Realistically I think the media industries need to change their attitudes towards their products and enable you to have the media in your desired format after you've paid for it
Personally feel the way forward is free content with sponsorship and merch to earn the money for the filmmakers (by that i mean thats what i would like to happen)
I keep trying to watch the "replay" and all i'm getting is a 5-6 second clip, it then returns to some menu. Did I miss it? I will jus have to wait and buy. . .
Im crying it wont work on my Iphone and my computers down. thank you for putting this out but is there any way to view it on a mobile device, I want to see it so bad! Thank you. You guys are awsome
I'm going to the premiere in Portland tonight! either way, i will be online for the free-b and will be sitting here with my cow bell yelling at the screen for awesomeness
Unbelievable......... I could watch this again and again, Aggy and Semenuk are the most ridiculous riders in existance! In fact the whole crew from this film are so sick. The Gnarcroft Trail is mint!!!!!!! Im so happy!!!!!!!!!!
did anyone else get pumped when they noticed at the end of each minute it flashes "watch live now" only to click and get sent to an error screen? first thought was: f you anthill, i wasted 12 minutes clicking 12 times thinkin i found a goddamn loophole. then i remembered the vids they've brought us...
I think it's pretty bunk of Pinkbike to air it @ 12:00 PST. I'm at work & so are many of the people I know who ride. So we have to miss out on this? I don't live anywhere close enough to go to one of the showings that have been happening. Also I can't get one ordered CAUSE THERE ARE NONE LEFT!!! Us working class types can't afford to take time off work to support this awesome movie. Poor move PB, poor move. Really think you should have it air at a later time for us folk on the West Coast. Or tell Anthill to get on with getting more copies available to order. I would really like to support this movie but alas I can't. So now I get to hear how awesome it was by reading comments 6 hrs after it aired..... Cool..... NOT!
Dont worry, im watching it now and it isn't fantastic to say the least. Nothing more than a collection of the type of videos we get on pinkbikes VOD every day bundled together in a poor quality stream.
I really enjoyed the movie Atmosphere is great, so positve! Shots and montage are just awesome, perfect pro job Music is very good also. And of course riders - great skills, great flow!
P.S. I don't know why, but your "Follow me" is still best bike movie ever (in my humble opinion ) but SIN is very close
AND I just saw it last night at the Boston premiere! Oh well, it was a packed house, (Sport Bar and Grill actually) had $12 burger and saw some awesome riding. I'll watch it again (I might actually hear the commentary this time!)
im confused it says "watch now" on the banner but then u click on it and it says the 24th which is tom. i guess its just a typo but it got me all excited i thought i was gonna get to watch it
Really good but what happened to the Danny Macaskill Segment? I was looking forward to street/trials making a return to one of the major films to showcase the diversity of the sport. Oh well.
Danny unfortunately got injured just as we started filming so we couldn't make it happen. Definitely would like to do something with him in the future!
I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Pinkbike for hosting this movie. As mentioned in an earlier post I've already reserved my copy on DVD, can't wait. But in the past 24hrs, my laptop hasn't budged from this site, it's been on constant loop, and now that the "free" fun is over, it's back to all the great vids that people always post to this site. The global scale of the riders in this specific genre of riding is unbelievable, but thanks to movies like this we get a sneak peek. Thanks Anthill for producing what will likely go down as one of the best movies I've personally seen in a long time. I love how quickly the camera technology has allowed the visions of the riders to be shown with so much passion. Messere's part, the music just seemed to fit that kid, the ending with the portraits of the builders and their trails even made me a bit teary eyed. Overall, AMAZING. Thanks again!!
somebody help?! everytime i click on it it just has the little circle in the middle of the screen and never loads? i can watch the other videos on their site
Western civilization stop introducing stupid shit to cultures that are far richer than anything you will ever understand, Economics of Happiness, watch it before you have something to say.
The two trail bike sections were amazing, it's something different too. It's what MTBing should be about but that seems to be getting lost more and more in the last few years.
Thankyou Pinkbike, RedBull media house, and AntHill films for giving focus to our awesome passion. Support these guys however you can! Long live mountain biking!
Nothing has ever gotten me as stoked to be apart of mountain biking, ever. I need to go ride up to Whistler from the middle of the U.S., so excuse me, I'll be back in a of couple months.
Basing on what I saw I think Brandon Semenuk is the most talented rider (you don't have to agree with me). I believe he could even compete in DH World Cup and get the podiums.
I saw this film at Sea Otter, its def worth watching online for FREE tommorow.
The beginning with Aaron Gwin is a pretty awesome beginning to this film
This is why the school system is messed up... cant they understand I have a very important mountain biking video to watch, just gunna watch it on my phone during class.
I left my copy of Strength in Numbers downloading on iTunes at lunch... I can't wait to get home and hook it up to the big screen and completely flip out!

I saw this in the cinema and I loved it for the most part, but some parts really disappointed me. The parts like the post office jumps, Gnarcroft and Whistler I just loved. But the parts with the middle eastern music in the background and the people biking trails really disappointed me. I really just failed to see the point of putting that in a film where the majority of people who are going to see it are all people who wanna see people going a 100km an hour hitting 50 foot gap jumps
collective movies always had some enduro sections included and i always loved it, this time as well. they ride so fast in such a crazy terrain that its huge pleasure to watch amazing movie, feels like watching collective 8? years ago. ahhhh^^
Hey Anthill guys, Thanks for this amazing shots!!!! ... and next time come to Peru!!!! Epic trails, amazing landscapes, Huge mountains and a colorful culture!!!
OMG i missed it by how much 10 minutes? Sorry that I was working.... That's pretty dumb, would have been nice to be able to watch it. 1Hr window? too short.
me too i wish our school would get out a couple days early or let us have a big screening of it but no there are no mountain bikers here! wait ill watch it with my high computer teacher!
squeakycranks12 i can not even get it up mate, how do u get it playing can u help me, its just a blank page its loading somthing but just stays like that ??
Sorry i didnt reply, i had to work, but it may of just been your internet connection, or possibly the webpage was so full of people it will lag on some computers
But hopefully not! I already bought popcorn and coke
