Hurtin' for Vert 2009 - Part 3 of 4 The wrangling of riders (aka herding cats) is getting tougher on day 3 as our guide informed us to be ready to roll out for 930AM, but 2/3 of the crew must have missed that part and found their way back post breakfast at 1030. Now we'd have to book it in order to get the Paper Bag ride in and then be at the beach for our 1PM heli pick up. Yep today is all about helicopters and bicycles. They really do go hand in hand!

I can't lie to you all, Paper Bag is so far from a trail that I enjoy riding that I will likely never return to ride it again. Thankfully Nelson has so many trails that I'll never have to worry about that predicament in the near future. The best part was it being over and sitting on a beach awaiting the best thing in mountain biking - helicopters! Pat from
Dirt Tours had made arrangements for our whole crew to be flown up and over the lake into the mountains in order to ride the Burn and Beyond, to Hitman to Doz Slabs. Ryan Kuhn made the trip up from Rossland to join us for today and will be our guide in his home town tomorrow. The crew will always remember this portion of the trip.

The crew was pretty shattered after a huge day like they'd experienced but it was time to clean up and hit the road for Rossland. We all packed up our gear from Mike's place and hit the road to Ryan and Nicola's wonder pad in the south. Thanks to Pat for organizing the big day for everyone. Check back in a few days for the last installment of our Kootenay tour.
