The “Legend” John Tomac and current Downhill US National Champion Aaron Gwin, have teamed up, and are currently training hard for the 2011 Downhill World Cup Season. Tomac’s resume and reputation speak for itself, and when it came time to make the decision on who and what could make Aaron Gwin’s program better, it was an easy choice to seek the guidance of Johnny T.

2011 is shaping up to be an exciting season, see you at the races!Already well into the training program, Gwin had this to say about his new Trainer,
“I'm super excited to be working with Johnny T. this year. I think the experience he brings with racing and training, is going to be a huge asset to my program. I couldn't be happier and I look forward to developing this relationship for many years to come!”

Tomac had this to say about training Gwin,
“I am really looking forward to helping Aaron in 2011. I believe my racing experience and my training approach will help him rise to another level. I’d really like to see an American back on top of the podium in both World Cup & World Championship Downhill Racing”

2011 is shaping up to be an exciting season, see you at the races!

If your gonna comment make sure you know the facts. I'm not claming to know everything bout Gwinny, but I know as much as has been posted on this site, and Gwinny riding for Trek in 2011 was certainly here :p

Ummmmm Taylar. U do know that Trek is a pretty big American company right.....
With a pretty rich American history... and actually if you knew anything which you dont.. The Asian's actually build a better bike than most american kids with a welder.. I'd take an asian built bike any day. They take pride in their work, Do you put 100% into everything you do.. or do you just get high and say.. meh that'll do. Lazy Canadian kid.

Taylar, are you aware that you ride a Gary Fisher HiFi? Any guesses who owns Gary Fisher? It starts with a T and ends in a K.

Taylar, are you also aware that all trek's high end bikes are made in the US?

this can be really great for Aaron. If he gets the same kinda coaching and guidance that Eli's been getting over the years it'll be a great season for Gwin. it's cool that once part of the tribe always part of the tribe. yeti blood runs deep.

Aaron will have the immense knowledge Johny T and his experience of course. On that note I wonder what kind of coach Nico would be…if he was interested!

Everyone is talking like Gwinn is a God or something. He's going to be good and a great addition to TWR with World Champ Tracey and Silver medalist Neko Mulally. 2011 will be a good year and he's set up with a SICK team and now the legendary Johnny T.

Aaron's a very stylish rider, his bit in The Tipping Point is inspiring. I want him to do well even though I'm rooting for the brits. Good luck

Stevie Smith's not too bad...cough 2nd place cough world champs cough.
  • 2 1
Smith, Minnaar, Hill, Blenkinsop, Brosnan, Gwin, Graves are just a few names that come to mind who aren't from Europe
  • 1 0
The DH scene is gonna be pretty tight next year for sure.. all those names mentioned above are definitely getting into their zone. Cant wait.

I'm not questioning which continent Costa Rica is on, (N.America, through default). I was questioning the way you have aligned your countries racing prospects with that of the US through some kind of 'continental DH talent pool'. Cost Rica is it's own country with it's own DH racers. If I was you I would be proud of and support the racers from my own country first.
