You’ve evolved with the sport Kirt, ever miss the days with Palmer on the WC race circuit?

I definitely miss those days. I miss doing runs and coming into the pits to work out issues with the bike. Back then everything was prototype. I've worked suspension that rattled every bolt and tooth loose into something almost controllable by race day. Those days were dangerous. Palmer was always a hoot. When we walked through the pits people would either start talking shit or scatter. That's how it was, always some chaos. We were loud. Palmer was so spun out on what he wanted to accomplish that everything he did in-between his conquests he gave the same amount of energy. So be it positive or negative it was 1000 percent. We were completely stupid together and when you added Peaty or Rob Warner, things got really out of control, on and off the bike. I always tell stories of those days and think of those guys often.

Before you head out for a big ride or even to the Dirt Jumps, what are some of your must haves that you take on every ride?

I always wear a helmet, knee pads, gloves and ankle braces. If I don't have those things I don't ride. I learned my lesson too many times. Besides the essentials, I usually bring two shovels in case I see some kid who looks bored and wants to help and of course my Camelbak comes everywhere so I stay hydrated and I fill it with Clif Bar goodness. If I'm digging, I gotta have my tunes.

Do you go over your bikes daily, weekly - still got that T-Rav servicing your fleet?

I always check my spokes. Riding park de-tensions them quickly. Other than that I shred until things rattle, break or need lube. As for Travis he has many jobs and will be popping up here and there working for teams who need his help. Ex World Cup DH pro Colin Bailey will be coming on the road with me this year as the Specialized AllRide team wrench bringing his knowledge of racing and work ethic for the kids to learn from.

Why did you choose Bend, Oregon as the place to “Settle Down”, what makes it so special?

Well, my wife is from Portland and she would come to Bend growing up to ski and spend summer vacations with her family. When we met all she talked about was how great the Bend area was. We would stop through while on tour and I instantly fell in love with it. I never want to leave.

You do the Specialized Allride Tour and have the Specialized Allride Academy, seems that you love to give back to the sport. Tell us about your motivations to give back?

Growing up I didn't have shit. I lost my Father at a young age and basically learned a lot on my own. Along the way I had many people who gave me bikes, skateboards, advice and a chance to better myself. I feel I should give back everything I can to do the same for others. It's the only way. I've known since the first generous guy hooked me up with a bike, that's what I want to do for others.

Kirt wants to know, "What are you thankful for?"
Leave your answer below in the comment section.

Contest closes at Noon (PST), November 29th, 2010. Names will be drawn from the entries and we'll announce the winners on December 1st, 2010.

I'm thankful for all you Canadian guys! You push freeride, downhill and slopestyle boundaries to completly new level. It's so good to go on such a sick website like pinkbike.com and learn moutainbike slang, read great interviews and tech tips. The most pleasant way to learn englishBig Grin I even translate some articles on my english lessons, to make sure that I undestand everythingSmile When weather here in Poland sucks, I can always visit pinkbike.com, set photo location to BC, and enjoy so inspirational shots! I want to thank you also for making such an amazing place like a Whistler! I spent there 3 weeks of my life. It made me 100% sure, that MTB is the best way to life. THANK YOU Beautiful British Columbia! You are motivating me so much to train when it rains, when it snows, when it's 35*C. Thanks!Smile

As I sit here in front of the computer at my ever aging grandfather's "ranch" a few rows back from the Great Lake Ontario, I think of the people that have helped me the most recently. My parents (particularly my father who one day said, "Your not allowed into that shop ever again unless you ask for a job!"), my boss, and my coworkers I am especially thankful, for without whom, I wouldn't have been able to ride my "new" 2000 Specialized Enduro on this cold, rainy and inspiring Thanksgiving Day along the old railroad path which I used to explore suburban Rochester's mountain bike offerings. Dan, my boss - the head wrench, Pip, and Xavier my sarcastic coworkers took me under their wings to help train me of the sacred ways of the bicycle. With their tireless patience of my struggling to place every spoke in correctly on to pressing the headset, and cutting the steer tube, I now humbly appreciate the gift of mountain biking like never before. These types of people I am most thankful for; the role models that educate others, teach compassion, and better the world by simply being themselves.

I am thankful to be able to ride both physically and to be in the right place economically, because I know several people that can ride but now they can't afford it anymore. I am thankful that I live in a place like Aptos. Thankful that such a thing as pinkbike exists and is as f*@king sick as it is. Lastly I am thankful that I'm not injured and that I don't have a gnarly broken leg right now. Oh and thanks to all the pros for throwing down rediculous and rad tricks.

After exploring the old railroad trail, I noticed some cool stuff. Today I went roaming around the neighborhood on my bmx. I found a cool spot went and grabbed a rake. I scratched away the leaves and loam from a gully that bordered the trail. I made a drop in ramp, and a step. Then I learned 360's and tuck no handers on my bmx bike! I havn't ridden it in a year... BMX is like cheating compared to 26 inch!

I'm thankful for the days I wake up to and realize I get another chance to live. No matter how that day may go, God still gave me the chance to see my family and my loved ones another time. Very thankful for my family's health and wealth and ability to keep paying the bills with my minimum wage salary. It's been a rough year, but I am thankful God has allowed my family and I the chance to keep living in the same home and have most things stay the same.

I'm thankful for: my amazing wife and daughter, my bikes, and for all the guys out there who are older than me (32) who are still riding hard and reminding me that I am not too old to be learning new tricks and crashing hard while trying.

i'm grateful for my family. because this is where you come from and this is where you are always to come back whatever life issues you face. you gotta remember your roots, no matter how old you get. just like bob marley sang. family is all about people who are always ready to give you everything they have for free. even the last piece of bread just so they would know you're not hungry. and there are no other people in this cruel world who would give you a thing out of charge, for nothing. it's all about financial feedback in this world, while a family is all about the highest emotions. i mean love, respect and understanding. i am grateful for my granddad, my mother father, named Igor, for teaching me life and for showing it's bright sides. rest in peace, man! i am grateful for my closest friends who make me feel that i'm not alone, while they always give me support if i need some. and i always do my best to help them out, too. i am grateful for my girlfriend, Ulyana, for sharing love, patience and her problems with me. bacause one of the worst things is when you are all alone, all by yourself. this is a pure tragedy. and i'm also grateful for the Kiev-Mogyla Academy for providing me the best education in Ukraine. thank you all!

I'm thankful for my family that will (most of the time) drive me to the trails that i live 45 minutes away from.
I'm thankful for my dad and mom for having good, well paying jobs to support me and my sister.
I'm thankful for finally having a bike that I worked hard for and will not break when I go off drops.
I'm thankful for the man who invented the wheel.
Im thankful for the man who invented the shovel.
I'm thankful for the many men and women who built all the great trails we all love to shred on.
I'm thankful that live in the United States.
I'm thankful for body armour, because I would have many broken bones without it.
I'm thankful for PINKBIKE for having a great website and putting on lots of contests like this.
HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

I bought my first mountain bike at performance in the early 90's during college. I was really stoked because it had shimano deore dx rapid shifters, cantilever brakes, over sized chromoly frame and rigid chromoly fork. I am so thankful that mountain biking and mountain bike technology have progressed to what it is today. I am also thankful for having friends who share the same passion about biking. Lastly, I am thankful for my wife who understands my "obsession" for this awesome sport. Thank you, pinkbike for your informative and kick ass site!

On October 26th of this year I was hit by a car going 65km/hr. I broke my leg in 3 places and lost a chunk of bone (it fell onto the road where my tibia was sticking out of my skin). I broke 5 ribs, one of which punctured a lung, had a ruptured spleen which was removed, broke 3 bones in my foot and suffered a subdural hematoma. One of the first things I asked my mom and dad when I woke up from my 3 day coma was, "Will I be able to ski? Will I be able to mountain bike? Will I be able to be a firefighter?" (I was going to firefighting college and was in excellent shape which is part of what helped me survive the accident.) My dad answered "yes" to all of them. For this I am extremely thankful, not to mention the fact that I am still alive. Still recovering and will be for a long time yet, but I'm a lot more grateful for everything I have in my life, large and small, because 4 weeks ago I almost lost it all.

I am extremely thankful for not being seriously injured after a crash that I had earlier this year and only chipping my bone and it healing up good. I am also very thankful for being able to eat everyday, have shelter, not be dying because of some sickness and for having the good life that I have, there are millions of people that can't have a life like mine or are very ill and even that have past away. Sometimes I think about how these poor and dying people get through everyday, some keep fighting to live and be with their families and some just fight to live even though they don't have any family, so I am also exceptionally thankful to have a great family to be with. Once in a while I wish I was one of those persons who is struggling to stay alive to really feel how it is, so I will be thankful and not take anything for granted like a meal that doesn't taste good because at least I have something to eat. Lastly, I am thankful for being able to have the opportunity to have the amazing feeling of riding a bike and going fast, and I wish that everyone in the world could also have that feeling because if I were to switch bodies with just one of those ill people, and they could have my opportunity, I am absolutely positive they would be a much better rider than me and go on to be an astounding rider like you (Kirt Voreis) because of their will and determination inside. Have a great and happy Thanksgiving!!!

I spent the whole morning thinking about what I'm thankful for. There's way too much to express with simple words. This is a job for a bro-ku:

Trees and dirt whisper
Ancient wisdom as I shred
Paths never taken

Every time I mount my metal steed, I'm taken to new places that show me just how much peace there is behind the seemingly impenetrable craziness of this world! Thanks, my awesome bike!

I'm thankful that I've been able to keep a clear and level head, my family who still loves me and supports me no matter what, the education they're helping me receive, my bike that i worked hard for that helps me keep my sanity when school gets crazy, my friends, my country and those protecting it, Canada for being so ****ing awesome, and all the great people in the sport of mountain biking.

As like others have posted, I'm thankful for my family and friends, especially for all of their support the past 12 years. I'm most thankful that I have a such a fighter for a wife. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in '98 then in '00 has had double mastectomies, multiple trips to hospitals for cancer related issues and had both hips replaced in 2009 due to other cancer related treatment. She was diagnosed with cancer again in '07 and '09 when it showed up in her spine. Despite all of that she loves to ride her bike and doesn't complain about much when she's on her bike. This brings me to something else to be thankful for and that is Transition Bikes generosity, they heard her story and donated a Syren with the help of FOX and SRAM. This bike is amazing and has made a huge difference in her life and the full suspension helps her body deal with the bumps. So, we get to ride more now that my wife has a great bike to ride and for that I'm thankful!

I am grateful to have the family and friends that I do. I'm so thankful to have a religion that helps me to be a better person and know there is a reason I go through all of the things I do. I am thankful to have my boyfriend (who introduced me to mountain biking), my dog and my bike Smile
I'm just thankful for life.

I'm thankful for having mountain biking in my life. My love for it gave me the strength to keep fighting even after I saw the light and as you can probably tell, I'm here today to type this. That was when I got bricked for one of my bikes, I got a cracked skull and permanent brain damage but that doesn't really bother me because at least I can still get out and ride whenever there's the opportunity to do so. It was completely worth dying for mountain biking, the greatest sport in the world.

I am thankful for...my friend Joss. She had cancer when we were 13 then a brain tumor 6 years ago. She ended up partially paralyzed, unable to speak, and blind after the surgery. She has always been an inspiration to me but especially over the past six years. When I first say her after her surgery she stuck out her tongue at me and smiled. She's has never lost her sense of humor, which was apparent when her first few words when re-learning how to speak were "ah shit man." I am thankful that she is still here and that thinking of her motivates me to ride faster, harder, and longer because you never know when the ride will stop.

I'm thankful for my dad, who passed away last year, for pushing me to be a better man and going for what i want.... for showing me that if you are good to people and treat them right, you will get that in return. He shared with me his loves in life- baseball, basketball, camping, family. I am who I am today because of him, and I pass my loves in my life onto my 3 boys- family, friends, and of course a good DOWNHILL!!! RIP Dad!! Love you!!

I could not be more thankful after the fall I have had. I am a cross country runner, and have been training intensely since June. Unfortunately, I got really sick in August, and it took me out of training. Watching my fellow teammates pass me in races and training, I could not help but feel depressed. I am team captain this year, and it was embarrassing to be running so horribly. I got sick numerous times after that, and developed hyperthyroid. My metabolic rate was that of a slug. I started eating right, doing protein, and anything else I could think of to get myself better; yet it was not helping. I also had bought a new bike to cheer myself up; my first ride, my chain came off between jumps and I cracked some ribs. September and October were the most depressing, and heart wrenching months of my life.

Now, being at thanksgiving, being sick no longer, I think about everything I am thankful for and the things my season has taught me. For those 5 months of pain, suffering, and hardship, I think about how lucky I am to be able to run and ride my bike. Some people out there cant even get off there couch! I also think of how lucky I was to receive the support from my team when I wanted to put down my shoes and cry. I am so thankful to have my bike to go out and ride, and be free from my issues in cross country even if it comes at an expense. I feel so lucky to be able to own my own bicycle, and be able to ride at will. It is a real privilege.

This has been the most thankful thanksgiving for me, even if I cant eat due to getting my wisdom teeth out...Anyhow, I hope it is a great thanksgiving for you all. Look around yourselves, and see how lucky you all.

I am thankful for many things. Like others here my dad and my uncle have fought cancer and won, my wife and I are finally expecting our first child after 3 years of trying, I am able to live in one of the best palces in the world (North Shore) and I am thankful for everyone that has doneated to my Movember page and helped me raise $500 for prostate cancer research.

I am thankful that i have what i have, the people around me, family and friends, i've lost too many friends to different types of accidents, (car accidents, and snowmobile accidents for example), so i've learned that life is too short to go grumbling about, thankful that i still have most of my family around me still, lost my grandfather to cancer, my other grandfather had cancer, fought it and beat it, almost everybody in my family has a bowel disease, but all are fighting, thankful for the doctors that take care of my family, only 19 years old but i've learned so much from life already and im just thankful i have what i have.

Several years ago, I put the bikes away and put a bookmark in that part of my life so I could raise my kids. Now my boys are 10 and 11 years old and last summer we spent several days on the lifts. My boys are rippers; old enough handle their bikes and too young to care about bruises and blood. I was so proud of them as I watched them tare the trails up. I'm so THANKFUL that I got to share my passion for riding with my sons all summer (at least 'till someone stole my bike) and that it has become their passion as well. I'll get another bike and in a few years, Im gonna have a hard time keeping up with them.

I´m thankful that, despite losing my job last week and having to find a new place to live, I still get to feel good for a few hours by getting on my bike and hitting the mountains.
Life´s to short to feel sorry for yourself.
  • 2 0
I'm thankful that I have a passion for riding bikes! It makes me enjoy my everyday life a lot more. riding my bike to work each day makes me so much happier than being stuck in a bus. To be at the top of a mountain and breath the fresh air before riding fast the trails makes me feel so free. Riding BMX and pushing the limits weirdly help me to grow up my self confidence. Overall... all the times that I almost get hit by a car while going to work, crash into a tree riding downhill or almost breaking bones trying new freestyle tricks makes me appreciate so much the fact that i'm healthy everytime I get out unharmed. Thankfully, I have a passion for risks, and thankfully I'm taking them with consciousness:I wear my helmet.

What am I thankful for, well this year it's pretty easy. I've encountered two major injuries this season: a broken back on Memorial Day and a separated AC shoulder joint In October. Didn't have to go under the knife for either one. Thank god....please let me recover quickly so I can start to work on my level of fitness so I'm ready for next season.

I'm thankful for my family, my house, and that my dad can work and we have enough money to get by. I'm also thankful for all my friends, those that ride and those that don't. I'm thankful that I will be returning to full health soon and I have a bike and places to ride.

I am thankful that I live/grew up in a place where I have/had the opportunity to ride everyday. Even if you just get out for 20 mins, riding a bike is one of greatest things there is. All these comments are proof that so many people find what they love when they hop on and give it a pedal.

I am thankful for alot of things but there are a few that matter most. Im thankful for my bike first off, without it i'd be insane. Second I would like to thank my family for supporting my choice for biking as a career. and third of all I would like to thank all my buddies in the military, because without them defending our freedom I couldn't just go ride my bike for fun. Those are the three things I'm thankful for most.

I am thankful for everything I got, because there are quite a few people who have almost nothing, no home, no money and the worst thing - no family! I have warm house, nice food served, money and family, but if I could I would give it all to every single one of them everything I have to just see them smile! Drive safe and always think about others, not only about yourself!

I am thankful for all the challenges I have experienced along the way and all the opportunities for learning I got as a result. Without them racing, coaching, bringing up the next generation and the position I am in now wouldn't mean nearly as much. For me what means the most is trying to be for others what I wished I had had in a mentor or coach growing up. I am thankful to all the kids and people I coach, they make the world refreshing and are a constant source of inspiration. I am thankful I survived my youth. I am super thankful for music. I am thankful for my community and everyone who supports me now, and all the support I have had, it all means so much more when you have to work for it. I am thankful for living now and not at any other time - the world is full of opportunity so go get it. I am also very thankful for my education - if you get the chance it will open your eyes.

I'm thankful for having my family, who have supported me in whatever I want to do with my life, my younger sister for pushing me and making me race downhill, my parents for supporting me even though I may not be the best at school. I'm thankful for the freedom that we have, allowing us to ride whenever we want, meet whoever we want and enjoy ourselves.I'm thankful for the privilege to work, to get out and enjoy life and to make everyone smile or see everyone smiling. The best things in life are the little things that most people over look. Its a privilege to be able to recognize these small things and be able to acknowledge them, you would be surprised what a smile does to someones day, or just saying hello. I'm thankful for a lot of things and i'm especially thankful to the life I've been given. I cant ask for more if I wanted because there is nothing more than I want!

I am thankful for the world that we live in. This world may be full of a lot of bull shit from scientists telling that were all fucked over when the world ends. I dont care I still love the world and all the sweet things put into it. I feel very thankful becuse I have lost 7 family members and a girl in my class died of cancer. I Am 13

I am thankful for a lot of things. What stands out for me, would have to be the area I am from. Vancouver island has been a great place to grow up. Lately my favorite pastime is building technical, beautiful trails, and constantantly adding to the jumps making them bigger and smoother. Life couldn't be better when I am out shoveling dirt, and riding. Thanks for reading.

I am thankful that I have been given the opportunity to advocate this sport and get more women and girls stoked on riding bikes, (over 400 riders and counting). I get to live and breathe this sport every single day and am continually inspired by some of the most incredible female shredders out there!

What am i thankful for? Humanity in a nut shell. The fact that everybody is unique in there own way creating such diversity that truly anything is possible. Im thankful for those whom went against the grain and decided to take the road less traveled regardless of others opinions, and created something great; mountain biking for example. Also i appreciate the things i tried and did not enjoy so that i can be reassured of the value of what i do enjoy doing. Lastly, im thankful for life itself, my family and friends, and the freedoms im granted, without which nothing i do would matter.

Im thankful for having such great family and friends. I am thankful for having freedom in Canada and not having to live in fear. I am thankful for the sport of mountain biking because it has changed my life!

I am thankful for the mountain.
Everything about it: it's beauty, it's height, it's shape, it's surrounding climate, it's surrounding people, it's nearby town, and above all (and I say this literally) it's marvelous little network of lines where the grass seems to have been tracked away, leaving studded patterns etched in the dust, dirt, or mud.

I am thankful for the family.
The family who shovels me up this mountain almost every day during the months of summer. The family who spends their time driving a car while I spend time on the network of lines where grass has been tracked off.

I am thankful for the bike.
What a huge civilization this pedal-powered two-wheeled contraption has created within the past few decades. How stoked I feel to be a part of this civilization, and how stoked I feel to ride one of these pedal-powered two-wheeled contraptions.

I am thankful for the sport, culture, hobby, business, and life...
of Mountain Biking.

I'm thankful to people who create opportunities for the less priveleged riders to have a chance at winning biking components. Biking is not cheap and a lot of us just don't have the money to buy quality parts. I always get really excited when someone puts up a contest, even if i don't win, I am still thankful for it.

I'm thankful for everything that going to school in Seattle has given me. Going to the University of Washington for just 2 short years has given me the opportunity to get a great education, have some crazy experiences, make some of the greatest friends I could ever have and be close to some of the greatest riding around.

I'm thankful for the blessing of life with opportunity. The ability to live within a first world country, and realize how lucky I am for that so I can live life to its fullest and strive to benefit those less fortunate around the world. I'm thankful that I'm able to enjoy the vast, incredible expanses of nature, which has given me respect and priority in taking care of the earth first and foremost. I'm thankful I fell in love with biking and it has provided me a lifelong love for nature, health, and respect for the world that surrounds us

i'm overjoyed to be alive after being shot in the face with a rifle. i'm thankful for my incredible health which helped me heal without any permanent harm. like any bad injury i've had, i have gotten to appreciate those around me who show their love and support. it boils down to being thankful for the good people we get to share life, love, action, and work together. some of my closest friends are through biking and we make up a family. our willingness to lend a hand, parts, money, a shuttle, a dig session, a place to stay when traveling, on and on, it shows our love for each other and the scene as a whole. this attitude of cooperation and unity between anyone (not just bikers) is what i'm thankful for these days.
a good attitude can make any bad situation better... www.pinkbike.com/photo/5852937

I'm thankful for all the chaos and drama I witnessed as a child. It taught me to persevere. If you never give up you will never fail. Nothing is too hard or too easy. Nothing is too big or too small. I really want to give thanks for all the comments. I feel them all. Oh yeah, and I'm thankful for Heat-Treated metals. Saves my life daily.

Im thankful that I've recovered well from my broken back and will soon be ripping the trails, rain or shine! Also, I'm thankful for the ability to still be able to ride my bike and not be paralyzed. A close brush with danger only shows us how vulnerable we are, and I only realized how lucky I was until after I saw the x- rays of my vertebrae. So all in all, I'm thankful to still be functional enough to do what I love; ride my bike until I die. Without the hope of soon being able to ride that aluminum beauty, my recovery would have been much more bleak. I'm thankful for the hope mountain biking gave me.

I'm thankful for how much biking has brought my brothers and I together and will always be the thing we have the most in common. I'm also thankful for my rad fiance who pushes me to be gnarlier.

I'm thankful for the biking community and the sense of unity it has. As a random rider I met at a Quiznos said, "If you ride two wheels, you go to heaven." I am thankful for the ability to ride my bike. It turns any bad day into a decent one. And of course, I am thankful for my friends and family. Without them, I would be nobody.

I'm thankful for the fact that no matter where you live, where you're from and what you life is like, riding can bring together people from all different walks of life and give them a common ground to have an absolutely amazing time, even it's it only for a few hours, to get away from the rest of the crap going on in their life Smile

I am thankful i have a relationship with God, the Creator of the universe, and the Creator of you and me. I am also thankful for trek, the creator of the sweet remedy 9.9 i get to ride most days. Furthermore, i must say i am thankful for Fox and their suspension prowess that allows me to effortlessly climb and descend like a nimble mountain goat on the trails that run to and fro around the tiny hamlet where i reside. God Bless.

I am thankful for my good physical heath due to having a gnarly bike crash, damaging the ligaments in my knee and also a car crash that it was a miracle that i walked away from.  I'm thankful for having a job so that I can fund my mountain bike addiction! Without a job I couldn't have bought 4 bikes this year, gone on a trip to the alps, bought a GoPro or the countless other bits and pieces I've picked up over the last 12 months.

I am thankful for the time that some passionate people(us all) are taking to write in sites like this and share their knowledge and experience on mountain biking. Without them I wouldn't be able to bike the way I do today.
Thank you!

I am thankfull for being part of the great mountainbike community. It doesn't matter from what country you are, or whether your ride XC of DH. We all share one passion, and that is to go out there and ride. I love it that I can go to another country, just talk to somebody at the bikepark. And ending the day by chasing each other down a trail and made a new friend. Or how the entire community stepped up for Nick Moore. The guy who was going blind and needed surgery. How company's donated stuff so that more and more riders donated money for the surgery. All that just to keep Nick riding. So therefor I am thankfull of being part of this community.

I am thankful to be alive! I am also thankful that after 40+ years of riding my bike in the dirt that I still get to do it a few days a week and get just as stoked when I nail a new line on my DH bike at the bike park as I did when I built my first jump at age 5 trying to emulate Evil Knevil.......

Im very thankful that I got back into MTB and off the dark path my life was taking. It has been the best 6 years of my life! Thanks to all my friends and great riders that I have met through the sport for showing me life can be fun without the things I was doing. Now I'm on the right path, but this time on a bike!! Thanks to all!!!

I am thankful for my family, who supports me in riding no matter what. For my good health, in which, if I did not have, I would not be able to ride as I do now. I am thankful for my current life, living in a home with a roof over my head and food on the table every night and day. For the brave men and women who stand ready to fight if anyone would want to do us harm. I am thankful for my friends, who help me through the hard times of my life. For school, it helps me learn and will benefit me when I become a responsible member of society. I am thankful for Pinkbike, it helps me unwind everyday after school, looking at pictures and watching videos. I am thankful for being alive, in which I can see the beauty of the world and riding bikes. Those are the things I am most thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Let it be safe and fun.

Just this afternoon (it's 3pm here) I'm spending my time working for free on an Event called Rocket Air Slopestyle that will take place April 8./9. 2011 in Thun, Switzerland. It's hours and hours of emails and phonecalls, not my preferred work at all, but I'm willing to take my time and give something back to our sport that I love so much. I'm grateful to be able to spend my time on this, so I can be a piece of something amazing. Big shout-out to all the volunteers making our sport possible!

I'm thankful for my life and everything in it. There are days when I feel like I'm being cut short of something better, but then realized how privelaged I am to be able to have some many awesome things and have such a great family and friends. I'm so thankful that I've even had a chance to do amazing things such as mtn biking which has brought me and totally different view of the world many times. For me, I realize I need to be thankful for everything I have at every moment, because you don't know when it's going to be gone and then you will realize how much you cared about it. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

I'm thankful for finding bikes as a hobby. Who knows where I would be or what I would be doing if I had not. They have taken and travelled with me all over the world and I've met so many good people and have so many good memories as a result. I'm thankful for the feeling I get when I'm in the air or just flowing a nice trail or hitting a drop for the first time. I'm mostly thankful for the love and passion the sport has made me feel for it.

All my relatives and friends who help me to grow on a daily basis and become better at all I do and every new trick and trail I ride, with my bike and dirtbike. And I'm thankful for having such a wonderful girlfriend who also loves to do all the sports I do even downhill biking although she wishes I didn't do the jumps/drops I do haha. And I'm just thankful for life in general being born in Canada and experiencing everything there is to do here. Finally for our troops in Afghanistan fighting for us and risking there lives so we can live ours in peace. Happy Thanksgiving (even though ours has past in Canada) haha

I'm thankful for having made it to 42 years of age. My first off road bike was a road bike. My first mtn bike was fully rigid. There were no suspension forks yet. I've gotten to see so many advances in mtn biking come and go. Ive lived in Colorado (crested butte), Moab, and Arizona, all of which are fabulous mtn bike meccas. Ive been to whistler for 2 summers which everyone should do! I've seen mtn biking go from outsider sport to some of us being celebrities. It has carried me through all the good and bad times of my life. I've been a bike mechanic for 24 years now and I'm happy to share my love for the sport with everyone whose bike I work on. Happy thanksgiving to everyone!

For be able to ride in a time where technology allows us to share our riding on pinkbike. Technology allows anyone with a cheapo digi cam or even a cell phone to go out a take pictures or upload videos onto sites like pinkbike and share the ride and stoke others so easily.
Back in the old school days there was no internet and even if you were able to put together a bike video (using a actual video camera with tapes) there was no one to share it with. Taking pictures was a hassle too as you had to use regular film and then scan pictures to upload them onto the internet. Such a cool time now where anyone can put together biking media and share it with the world so easily.
OH...and thankful for disk brakes...melting vee brake pads was a HUGE pain.

I am truly thankful for life, the way I was born and raised in a part of the world where I was given a bicycle at an early age, not a machine gun. My main focus in life is to have fun, not survival, hatred and fear of others.

Miss you lots (1931 -2010) and thanks to you I will ride my bike forever!

I am thankful for all the great adventures one can have in life. Be it an adventure with family around the table for turkey or traveling to a new trail to ride it with my best buds. There is so much to be thankful for I cant list it all, so this is just a taste.

In the world’s unwavering love I am a fortunate son… I am thankful for a vast array of goodness brought to my life, but what stands out the most is the changing of seasons. The transition from fall to winter creates the combination of ripping single track trails and slashing pow lines. If it weren’t for dirt in my teeth and snow in my boots I would not be the individual that I am.

I´m thankful for still being alive.
One horrible car accident caused by an irresponsible driver, 1 peritonitis saved by only one hour till I passed out (1 month on the intensive care unity, caused by a virus)....and here i´m, still riding, and enjoying life with my family and closest friends, and doing my favorite sport mountain bike (downhill, cross-country and dirt jump)....Always enjoy life and try to be thankful of everything you´ve got on life

Thankful for working limbs and the ability to ride a bike. To be able to experience "that feeling". Thankful that I love this sport and that there are so many new outsiders looking in, expressing new interest and furthering the sport. Thankful for Turkey coma's. Thankful for a weird community of people online who don't know each other but share a passion for a common interest!

i am thankful for surviving a year in iraq recently, for god giving me the extra time there to dig some jumps with their excellent dirt, for being blessed with a great support system back home that supplied me a bottle rocket and plenty of dry lube for it! lord knows we needed it there with all that dust! the whole year spent there taught me alot about whats important and how you can make the best of any situation if you just think positive about life and not stop to dwell on all the negatives that surround people. im proud to have been one of many that were able to bring a bit of hope to those people, and give them the opportunity for a better life last of all im thankful for my beautiful girlfriend who patches my shins up when i miss the pedals after a can-can and brings me pbr after a long day, my parents for always keeping my head on straight when i needed it the most, and to my little sister, who has done so well for herself..god bless you all!

I am thankful for being in such an well-situated country that i can spend my time in the forests with my friends on those expensive Bikes, and not in factorys like Foxxcon and had to manufacture I phones for hip teens in the western world.

hmm, let's say that I'm thankful to my friends who let me try that fuckin' bunnyhop and other tricks on their bikes and even if I don't have a bike yet I'm thankful to my parents for supporting me and saving money for the bike I'll probably buy in the near future. I'm also thankful to the people who are reading my blog because without them I wouldn't get some extra money just for me. to be continued...

 I'm thankful for:
*Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, the one who means more to me than anything!
*My Mother and Father who gave everything to raise me to be a great man!
*My Father who grew up in the projects and who now has a college degree, has served his country and has a great job with a company that loves him! He taught me to never give up!
*For my two brothers! The older who also served his country (going to Iraq twice)!
*For my tow sisters (both from China), one we've had for 4 years. The other is in Beijing now and my parents will travel in about 1 month to get her!
*And also for the rest of my family and friends who are always there for me and mean the world to me!
*Also for my mission trip to China, where I was able to bring a teenager to the Lord!
*And even though I sold my bike (to get money during my missionary program), I love the sport of mountain biking and wish I'm able to get another soon!!!!
*Last I'm thankful for Pinkbike and Kirt Vorei's and their great contest! I hope I win this one!
Happy Thanksgiving to all, God bless!

I am thankful for the air in my lungs, the ability to ride mountain bikes, and my family and friends who have guided me onto the right path even though it's been hard. I am thankful for every man and woman fighting in the military and army, protecting us. I am thankful for being surrounded by wonderful and really awesome people, whom I've had unforgettable times with. I am thankful for being alive, healthy, and living life day by day. I am thankful for being fortunate enough to be apart of this united biking community, a community that supports each other in every way possible. That this community holds it's own and proves the immpossible, to be possible. I am thankful to be a part of a sport that is universal and brings so many smiles and happy memories. I would not be the same person I am now if I never saw my first mountain biking video of Matt Hunter that made me so stoked to ride and be a part of this sport.

Thank you God for gravity. Thank you Sir Isaac Newton for discovering it. Thank you for the force that makes my legs burn on the way up the mountain and after reaching the top, the force that allows me to rip down steep singletrack at mach speed. Thank you gravity. I am eternally grateful.

Family, friends, health and life foremost. After the "usual suspects" I'm thankful for Pinkbike. Without it I'd have to get all sorts of Trojans and viruses from sifting through other sites to get my bike porn fix that the POD and VOD satisfy. It's great to have a site with ppl who love all kinds of bikes and embrace the artwork that comes from them.

Im thankful for my friends and family and the whole biking community that i am involved in and all the companies out there that are here that do what they do to supply us all as riders so we can all do what we love, ride bikes.

I am thankful for their being the organizations and people who give back to the sport so much. When I first started building stunts and single track in 1999 it was all DIY and underground. Now where-ever I have moved in Alaska and the pacificNW the scene is burgeoning and the kids are stoked! I am thankful that I was able to buy the bike I wanted back then and get into it. I feel more compelled by that to teach and help out the next gen of shredders on dirt and snow who dont have the monetary means I did as a beginner.- Disco Stoo

Well Kirk I'm thankful for a few things, I hope you find them prize worthy. I am of course thankful for my health and minimal amount of wealth(i don't live on the streets or in a hospital). Thankful for the fact that I have been able to work in the cycling industry for 16 years and it has never led me astray(ok a few times I got places that I wish I didn't end up mosly in vegas). and lastly I'm thankful for all the times the police have said i'll give you a warnning just this one time(I'm glad there is more than one cop out there). hope this ends up in the short list but if not that is ok too. Remember "clip in to win"and "flat pedals win metals". Kobra out.

I'm thankful for all the really generous people, that enable mountain bikers to build tracks in their woods without asking for anything in return, all they want is to see people having fun and socialising. I'm thankful for everyone that has an interest in my hobby, even if they aren't sporty. I'm thankful for all the organisations, and individuals that promote mountain biking and try to make into a bigger sport that everyone knows about. I'm thankful for competitions like this that supports mountain bikers and also makes us think about what the sport is all about and how much it means to us. And finally I'm thankful for all the places and natural beauties I have seen, and all the amazing people I have met from the sport, including my girl friend that I will likely marry one day Smile

Thanks for reading my comment

I'm thankful for my girlfriend. She is an amazing, loving woman and a strong cancer survivor. I'm thankful for my friends. They always make me smile. They support you when you're down. Take you higher when you're up. I'm thankful for the little good things people do in their everyday life to other people. Passing on good vibes and energy really is felt by everyone.

Once in a while I catch this guy on the trail whom wasn't born with arms. He rides a high end chair which he pushes with his legs and does it powerfully.
So whenever I think I have it bad or had a crappy day, I think of him and suddenly I'm pretty lucky...we all are.
Needless to say I'm thankful for "the ability" to ride.

I thank GOD, for blessing me with life and this great planet that he created. I'm thankful for my family and the love that we share and to the dude that invented the bicycle, if it weren't for that person we wouldn't be on this site today!

Im thankful for my dad. He was in a street bike accident 11 years ago and has been in a wheelchair since. He never gives up and shows truly what life should be like. He doesn't let a chair get in his way of doing anything. He owns a business, a big house and has a great family. He shows me that I should never give up even if it feels like the task ahead is impossible. I ride for him.

Im thankful for the whole mountain biking community... We treat each other like family and will help each other out no matter what. Example: when many of us supported "ride for nicks eyes" the amount of money we raised for him was amazing.

I am thankful for the days of riding that I have been lucky enough to survive, the skills I have learned from my coaches, the support I have had from my local bike shop and friends. Im thankful for being able to live and ride with the greats such as Gary Fisher and Joe Breeze. Im thankful for being able to grow up in an area so influenced by biking and so beautiful with so much land that we can ride and have fun on. Then I am also very thankful for sites like Pinkbike so we can share our riding and our stories with others who will be interested with our individual experiences and pictures. Also I am thankful for being granted with the ability to finish my first norcal racing season in 12th place for the beautiful state of California. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I am thankful to be alive. This passed weekend i was driving down the highway at 70mph. It was 12:30am and there was a deer running across the road. I just happened to miss it; barely. Luckily I had been switched to drive because my family had been driving since the morning. If anyone else would have still been driving, I am particularly sure they would not have seen the deer running across the road. Thankfully no one was injured and the car was not severely damaged. So I am thankful to be alive and that my entire family is safe and healthy!

I'm thankful for what I'm always thankful for:
that somehow, despite seemingly insermountable odds an imperfect universe was created the formed galaxies and planets, one of those being Earth where somehow life was created and species evolved into humans, and these humans which came before my self interacted in such a way which lead to me being born into a such wonderful country and family.
Not to mention our biology and the geology of our planet allow us to do some really kick ass things like biking Smile

I am thankful for 3 things!
1. My loving family and friends.
2. The wise elders of the Central Oregon Trail Alliance, for guiding me in
the right direction.
3. Finding the savior of my life; Mt.Biking. Without that I would have
gone down the wrong road in life.

I am thankful for my girlfriend putting me up and putting up with me for the past year while I was unemployed, and thankful of course that I have a job again. Now hopefully I can afford to build a bike again and get out and ride.

I am thankful for all the people in the world who make mountain biking possible. Their dedication to the sport is what has made mountain biking what it is today. I am also thankful for my friends, family and loved ones who are there for me when I need them the most, especially my fiance who picks me up when I am down, literally ( many falls in mountain biking ).

I'm thankful for the companions in our lives that put up with our lifestyle- the girlfriends/fiances/wives that shuttle us even though biking to them means hopping on the CCM to go to the store. Though they may not understand our psychosis, they support us because they love us. They make shake their heads when we return battered and bruised, but they patch us up anyway. They put up with the dirt, the smell, and the questionable financial priorities because they know it makes us happy. If the price we pay for all this is the occasional chick flick, I think we're doing pretty well for ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my parents, who showed me the video tonight of me opening the package that contained my first bike, a big wheel, on Christmas day in 1983. I am thankful for my childhood friends and the experience of growing up in the woods, riding our department store bikes at breakneck speeds through the trees. I am thankful for my dad subscribing to Mountain Bike magazine in the mid 1990's. I am thankful for Tinker and Tomac, Hans and Ned, Missy and Juliana. I am thankful that my childhood heroes wore lycra and not football pads. I am thankful that although my grades slipped, and my interest in school waned, my parents still let me ride. I am thankful for Palmer and Voreis, Peaty and Lopes, who brought the skate-punk attitude of my adolescence into the sport that I lived for. I am thankful that my parents drove me to the NORBA Nationals to race and to meet my heroes. I am thankful that although my grades fell into the toilet, and my college prospects slipped away, I had my bike to live for. I am thankful that I stopped riding in 2000, bizarre as that may sound. I am thankful that I saw a young adult life without riding, and saw how empty it made me feel. I am thankful that my local mountain opened a bike park in 2007, and I seized the opportunity to finally get back on my bike. I am thankful that I had the foresight to quit a lucrative job to work at this bike park. I am thankful that this job has led to better and better things, and has become my career. I am thankful for our house in the mountains, for my dog and my fiancee. I am thankful that Kirt shared some of his stories with myself and a friend last month, and that he was just as excited to hear me share some of mine. I am thankful for everything that Mountain Biking has given me, continues to give me, and will give me in the future. And most of all, I am thankful that I am helping other people get on bikes, so that they also have Mountain Biking to be thankful for.

I'm thankful that after I moved from northern Alberta to Kelowna far, far away from all my friends and family with a busted bike that I somehow managed to fix it up, meet a great crew of riders and put in a few rides with my new friends in a new place on my old friend before the snow fell. Life's good.

I am very very thankful of all things that i may be able to do all the things in my life, walking, talking, breathing and also riding, for these things i cannot control, ( i know some may get a little frustrated but its the truth.), Only God allows us to do all the things that we may be doing. I am very thank full for my loving and caring family for without them, driving me up to the top of the hill and also enabling me to have a bike, i would no be able to do so. I am very thankful that i may have enough food in the cupboard as so many thousand do not even eat that much in three weeks. I am thankful for a bed and a roof over my head as so many poor people, what we take for granted do not have. For the bike that we are able to ride they aren't even able to provide a tube.

 Ya Kirt Voreis!

Wow where do I start?? First and foremost I am thankful for my Family and Friends. Without my family, life would be hard and there would be no Love in my life. I Love you guys! Without my friends life would be boring and there would be no joy or crazyness! You guys are awesome! I am Thankful just to be on this earth to live life and learn who I am and become the best at whatever I put my heart and soul into. Life is such an amazing thing that no one fully understands. We are on a continues journey, not only on this earth but before and after this life! I am thankful for the self determination that I was born with to do anything I put my mind to. I am Thankful for my health, not only physically but mentally as well. Living Healthy is a big part of my life. And obviously I am VERY thankful for my Dirtbike and Mountain bike! These things provide me with something I am VERY passionate about and cannot live without being involved with them in one way or another. Some people think I am crazy for what I do and want to do, but they just dont understand the people who do the things that I do are born with something inside them that keeps pushing them further and further. I LOVE IT and I'm not going to stop! Smile

I'm thankful for who I am today! Like a lot of people there have been some pretty rough times in my life but the thing is, that I know I wouldn't be half the person I am today if I didn't have the chance to grow from the manure that life throws our way! And the fact that I live here in Canada where I can get out and session some sweet jumps or rip a sick section of trail and only have to travel 15-30 mins away... Well that's just Gravy!!!

I"m thankful for what my life has turned out to be. A fun and exciting life that is filled with stories and memories that are from riding my bike around town to racing for the first time. And my family and friends, How could i forget that.

I am thankful that, through bikes, I've become myself and made friends with others who share my passion. I'm just a kid and bikes have opened up a whole new world to me. I have only been riding since may, but with the impact it has had on me, it seems much longer.

I'm thankful for all my family and freinds who supported me when I broke my right TibFib dirt jumping and encouraged me to stay positive and think of the next season when I can ride again. I'm also thankful for the shin pads keeping my bones under my skin and the titanium rod and screws in my Tibia keeping my leg together.

I'm thankful to have found mountain biking in the past few years. It is wonderful to find myself involved in a sport that is not just a sport- but a respectful, generous, and kind community. The world community of biking is amazing, and I have already benefited so much from my involvement- from meeting riders on the trail telling me about the best hidden tracks to the some of the free parts handed to me from more experienced riders to help build up a bike to improve my own skill. I would not be able to ride without the help of the community, and that's why I'm glad biking is more than just a sport.

im thankfull to be fortunate enough that my parents have worked to provide with the life that i live. to be able to be a part of this sport when so many struggle through each day. i only hope to be able to spread the joy i feel and give others the same opportunity to enjoy riding a bike as much as we all do.

Thankful I am for the flow .... The flow of breath and of life; the flow that finds it's ways through and on wheels, edges, and water.

The cyclicity of energy.

The wonderful friends through the years.

Be well .... Celebrate each breath.

What am I thankful for? Well kind of hard to be thankful at times like theses but id say I'm thankful for just being able to be thankful. I'm also thankful for my cousin Katie she was strong enough to last through thanksgiving so everyone could say their goodbyes and see her as a family. She's was a proud and thankful wife, and a mother of two beautiful red heads one three and one six. Rest in peace Katie we all love you and miss you much and you can see your baby now! 1984-November 28th 2010. That's what I'm thankful for and I will be for the rest of my time .

I am thankful to God and all he's given to us. I am very sorry to hear about your loss at such young age, I've had a similar experience, although my father is alive, but I can't in all honesty say he has been there for me. Now I have my own family and thank God were all healthy and well. In terms of biking I would have to the ones which work countless hard hours maintaining and building new trails creating all the fun for all of us. Remember to leave the trails in better shape when leaving and we're all going to be thankful. Happy Holidays!

I'm thankful for an amazing mountain biking trail system just 10 min from my door. I'm also thankful for my friends, family, and all the people i have met in the mountain biking world. Lastly, I'm thankful for that addicting rush of adrenaline that hits when boosting a huge booter for the first time, or fly mach balls down a downhill course and edging on out of control. Braaaaap!

I am thankful for the outdoors. I know it sounds cheesy but without woodland, fields, and hills I would be nothing. The outdoors, and nature, gives us more than any machine or factory ever can, let's pay it some homage and keep shredding until our bodies don't let us!

I'm thankful for all the opportunities life throws at you and the ability to make the best out of them, whether good or bad. I'm also thankful that I have such a supportive group of riding buddies, friends and family for helping me to progress to where I am today and helping me to get through the tougher times such as injuries etc. And last but not least, Mountain biking in general, it helps me get a clear head, a chance to think things through and it's my way of escaping and letting myself go.

I am thankful for many things, Number one would be the brave men and women of the military who put themselves in danger daily;come home safe! Number two for all those riders before us throwing down and paving the way for the next generation of mountain bikers, without them our sport wouldn't be where it is today!

i´m thankfull for every good person out there no matter what they are or where the from. every good person i met makes up for all the bad ones or bad experiences during life. if everyone would try to be just a little like they want to be recogniced or treated than a lot of problems and differences would just disappear

to start, gotta be thankful for the increasing interest and support of our diverse sport... (natural may as well encompass bike parks too.. its all organicish) the earth = our home, a natural home... and a home is a castle. its got love, family, memories (good and bad) made and not forgotten (unless you can't quite remember...) what are we with no 'woods, dirt, and park castle'? ... not a house but a home, and for biking that is the earth! a location of comfort, of passion and of pain... luckily that includes the driveway. ('the castle')

at the first thanksgiving there was no turkey, but deer, so thanks for the venison jerky and the first decent after the hike up..

I am thankful for the ability to ride a bike after being in a major avalanche while snowboarding a few years ago, and that I can ride in awesome places like Whistler, Mt. Ashland, Mt. Shasta and Bend. Getting back on the bike helped to heal my broken leg and other injuries and also led me back to DH racing and experiencing epic trails at beautiful locations, and the great people involved with those trails.

what am i thankful for. im thankful for my parent for giving me the live that i have now and thankful for the sport of mtb for giving me the opportunity to have the best fun i could ever have and for the fact that the sport gave me the ability to have something to be passionate about, im thankful to progress, push the limitation of my ability every single day and the opportunity of having to meet new people that has thesame passion as me, and im also thankful in a fact that the sport i love never stops progressing.

also im thankful that i have never met a person/ rider that only does the sport to be cool, to show off, and only does the sport for the money and not for the fun and passion for the sport.

Im thankful for just having the opportunity to ride. All the great friends I have made and will have forever because of our incredible sport. I'm thankful when I clean a gnar section, and i'm even thankful when I crash...cuz I know Im still pushin it and trying to progress. Im thankful just to be out on the trail, wether its wet, muddy and sloppy, or hot, humid, and miserable. I have been riding a long time and even at 40 years old, I still love it as much as I did when I was a kid...it is literally the very last thing I think about before I fall asleep and the first thing I think about when I wake up........Its always so fun...everytime....

Im thankful for (in no certain order): my wifes desire to take up riding, my amazing family, my friends who help create gold out of dirt in an area where mountainbiking is almost non-existent, my health, pinkbike!, fox!, just biking in general and I would say that as #1 if this contest was on a knitting website, having a job, salvation, and lastly - being able to scrape together enough money to build a decent bike. Thanks pb and fox.

I'm thankful for the wonderful place that this earth provides for humanity (not to mention a lot of places to ride)
And I'm thankful for the experiences that biking provides. It branches across every ethnic, racial, religious, and country division. One of a select number of things that stays constant wherever you go in the world.

I'm thankful to still be riding hard after 3 years of fighting Rheumatoid Arthritis that has taken over my legs and lower back, when I'm still a teenager. And I'm especially thankful for my parents, family, physical therapists, and the doctors for supporting me and helping me so much. Without them I'm almost certain I wouldn't be riding anymore. They've helped me keep the one half of my life that means the world to me.

Thankful for the sports that I have been involved in (DH and moto) and all the great people ive met, the lifestyle is has brought me too, the passion it has brought into my life. The hard working mentality to make my life better so I can have more toys. The want and desire to make my dreams a reality, and the passion to continue the life I have had as a kid for the rest of my life and to hopefully pass it onto my kids.  I'm thankful for biking both in what it gives me and what I can give back. I work in a field where it's easy to burn out mentally and emotionally (Child and Youth Mental Health) and biking always helps me find my balance again after a tough session. It connects me to my body and to the outdoors and helps keep me fit. I'm greatful to give these things to the kids I work with as well and give back to my own family following a good ride with the positivity and calm I get from the bike. I love building trails that will challenge and offer this to others as well and sharing these things with as many as will listen. I'm workign and can afford stuff when my wife allows it so the goods could proboubly go to a young one with more challenges in getting gear, but if it did go my way I would be thrilled to find a home for it among the young ones I work with or know. Thanks.

I'm thankful for my day to day life, Ok I moan about things, but I have a life that a lot of people would envy. I have a nice bike, good house, great family, a lovely girlfriend and an education. I live in a country where the government is pretty fair and thank God my family are all fairly healthy, my thoughts are with those who are talking about cancer battles and such above. I havent even read the article itself yet, but some of these comments are very inspiring. and I'm impressed with the pinkbike users and their support for fellow riders, as is show above.

I am thankful for my great life, that involves my beautiful daughter and wife. Five years ago, my wife suffered a stroke just after Christmas. The right place at the right time and the excellent doctors, kept her from giving up. Months of rehab and over two years of therapy has given us a chance to live each day like its our last. She has been getting back on her mountain bike and snowboard, and showing us that life can be take a swift tun from the norm. Her strength and positive attitude drives our family to new heights and challenges. This summer we went to Crankworx, as a challenge and leap of faith, my daughter whos seven and my wife rode down whistler on a rental bikes. Its days like that I am very thankful for.

Props to kurt for not riding useless you have a helmet. I lost a best friend to not having a helmet... He can't do anything anymore everything is done for him. kurt nice job for helping the younger generation be part of your building, It helps them build skills. Another thing this was from the heart. Not the head thinking of greed and what will benefit them like freebies. amen

I am thankful for all involved in dropping me to this planet, where I could gather all these experiences with humans, machines and phenomena of nature. Being alive connects me to other humans, nature, plus machines. And an extra special machine - mtb - connects me to humans and nature. Plus allows me to have fun during my journey.

Extra special thanks to my close family: VickyWhistler and my little Son, Ádám for being open to all these experiences. Love you guys.

I'm thankful to the tiny little sperm that won the race against millions of others to get to the egg. This is the single most important event in my life. The next was probably the discovery of how much joy, fun, friendship, excitement, fear, adrenaline and pain two wheels and some metal can bring to a human being. For these two things, I am forever thankful, allowing me to go to my grave one day a happy and contented person. Whatever happens, I WON.

I know that nothing is for certain and any day can be my last. I can be walking along and almost anything can happen (and as we have seen in the headlines of various MTB news sites, many things do). We are very fragile in the grand scheme of things, so I am thankful knowing that myself and many others overcome these obstacles to ride another day. Cheers to those who have enjoyed extreme sports over the years and lived to tell the tales.

I am thankful that I found two wheels. My life would be a terrible, chaotic mess of self destruction if not for knobby tires. Riding resets all the world around and gives me the opportunity to discover the world in limitless ways. It fuels my passions in life, renews my spirit and faith in times of trouble. Rolling pushes my body and mind to limits I did not know I had. My greatest achievement in life is my kids and to pass on my passion to them and the freedom bikes give, I am blessed

  • 3 1
Hey, maybe you're just being facetious, but porn doesn't do anybody any good. No one. Nada. It frustrates your natural desire for true communion and replaces it with a sense of entitlement to pleasure, all at the expense of objectifying the human person. Those models you're looking at are real people, created in God's image and likeness. No one should be treated like an object.
