Great shoes, I own the hi-cut Impact and those shoes rock. The stealth soles provide awesome grip on flat pedals. It is the small circles that do it... the pedal pins sit inside the circle cracks - perfect!! The grippiest shoes ever. Best flat pedal shoes I have ever worn.

Brucethomson, that is the saddest, most uninformed comment I have read in a long time. I guess Sam and Nathan have no idea what they are doing also? Are you serious??

I can see those Nathan Rennie ones appearing in the clearance bin in the not too distant future! They look like the result of Michael Jackson in his Thriller gear, crashing his car into a special needs footwear store !!!
  • 2 0
yea but I can also see a "baller" type image going along with the rennies. I'm sure they will pick up somewhere lol

I have three pairs of Impacts. One is usually used as a street shoe while it breaks in and then it gets used for riding. I can't imagine riding without a pair of 5.10s on my feet.

There's an old military saying "If it looks stupid and it works, it ain't stupid." Anyone that buys an inferior performing shoe because it LOOKS better deserves to have their feet slip off the pedals. Which will happen.

The only downside in my experience is using them for dirt jumping: sometimes you wanna jump off the pedals or take a foot off and it takes a little more effort than a skate shoe.

The Freerider model looks decent, the Rennie model looks like some ghetto-ass Nike basketball shoe. Karver looks ok. Sam Hill has nice colors but I sure as hell wouldn't want my shoes to say "Sam Hill" on them... that's just retarded.

There is a plain black on too.

i love my new sam hill style 5.10 shoes, they are awesome and you cant compare them to any other shoe out there. The steahlt rubber kicks ass, and they are really comfortable - BUT to be honest they are still not good looking. Im a damn sneakernerd, and i wouldnt wear them to anything else than riding my bike. Dont get me wrong, they are great ! But why is it so hard for 5.10 to make some "cool looking" shoes ?!
... just my 2c

I haven't had much luck with 5.10's, I always have to glue them back together after riding in the wet. Lately I've been using construction adhesive which does the job. And the Impacts I have don't breathe at all. Maybe the new shoes are better, but if the sticky is what you're after, get a good pair of shoes re-soled by Stealth.

I have a pair of standard black lowtop 5.10's from last year and recently bought a pair of the new Freeride model (gray/black without all the design mess). The Freeride model looks great, but no where near as comfortable as the other models like the Sam Hill, etc. I get the impression that they may have used a completely different last for the Freeride model as it fits quite a bit differently, especially in the toe box. The sizing is the same, just the fit and feel/comfort of the shoe is a bit off.

Uh...Uh.... I have never taken a public speaking class…Uh…Uh. I don’t understand why they don’t make clip in’s. Those Sam Hilll’s would be pretty sick with a like a crank brothers set up.

I really hope they have improved on the internal material of the line. I have a pair of Freeride 2008 and they are far too airtight and sweaty, and take forever to dry out if they get wet.

i dig the Sam Hill 5.10's,those are sick shoes

besides being sick shoes the work fantastic!

Another Nor Cal company putting out super quality products. Big Grin There shoes in all the disciplines that they make are pretty much the best in those sports.

Bottom Line: Stealth Rubber Pwns

All about the Karver.. don't really like that their names are embedded in the heel but hey, to the enthusiasts they really aren't bad. I'd grab a pair for sure. Smile

my impact lows planted on a pair of straitlines have been the best set up I've ever had. function over form for sure. the rennies are straight up bargain bin on sale in brooklyn in 1989. fugly

those freeriders are pretty sick i wish they have a picture of the bottom of the shoe though i wanted to see if it was the same or not. and those rennies are GROOOOOSSSSSSSS

What happened to the good looking five tens? Those are all hideous.

Anyone down for new designers?
  • 0 0
true that, i have the marzocchi bomber edition five tens and they burn my feet up. its hard to ride in them just because my feet get way too hott.

i want a pair of karvers for more ankle protection but, they soooo damn ugly! the womens color way is nice!! LOL
  • 0 0
FUGLY. I'll stick with my Shimanos. What is it with athletic shoes and their complete lack of aesthetic design appeal?
  • 2 1
i have the karver ones they are mint......

What he said! I have a pair too and it feels like i'm wearing my SPD's!! Big Grin

Nathan's Rennie model looks very kinky
  • 0 2
they may work good but ill stick with my nike 6.0s until they make a shoe that doesn't look like a shoe a seven year old would find cool looking.
  • 3 0
make sure your gear matches and looking cool is way more important than actually riding on it.
  • 1 1
 haha right on
  • 0 0
I love the women's shoe. they should make a guys in purp.
  • 0 0
I wish they had more SPD options.

mind your own buissness Wink
  • 1 0
very true.... can't argue that aspect.... but if mined our own business all the time.... well you would be speaking german, not dutch... dispite what we seemed to have turned into, we do com from honorable past... it use to be one word that defined america, and its moral compass..."nuremburg".... now the word has changed to "gitmo".... however, i am still a firm believer that america does more good for the world, than bad. and you can't argue that.... no lol's, j/k, lmao's in this one bro.

OMG you're a trooper.. or should i say exspendable infantry ? discussion is pointless since you have a fixed view on your reality but hear this..
for one it is kinda sad to bring up the war were you did not participate in...
the reason why ww2 came so far is that nobody in europe gave a f*ck until it was too late !
just like now the war on terrorism and muslims (for me the same).. i cant help that i am living in pasifitic europe with a sad look on reality...
but dont go calling the usa good.. you have easy fire arm laws and we have legalised weed wanna trade ??
  • 2 0
Ontbeerlijk? maybe to you... and no... not infantry, i'm a medic.... although i have spent enough time with them to know that they are far from expendable. infact i still have nightmares about how much we are not expendable..... seperate note, in all reality i would rather us have more stringent guns laws, and i think that legalisation and regulation of pot would be a good thing.... in your view it might be sad that i bring up a war that i wasn't in... but i aleast have respect for the men who gave it all for punks like you who have no respect for history... as for your "war against muslims" view, you should not try to get a different view than that from your couch reading anti-war blogs... maybe expand your views a bit... cnn.com, bbc.co.uk, and speigel.de are the ones i frequent.de (i read it in german btw)... also you shoudl take a trip to afghanistan or iraq when you get a chance. i've been there, spent about 18 months there, and it really gave me a sense of what was going on.... let me know how everything goes... if your too scared to go i understand, but you can message me, and i'll tell you all about it... peace be with you.
  • 0 1
bla bla bla ..punks like me ?no respect for history.. if that was so why would i give a fok about the future were going to ? dumbass.. i aint no kid bud..
/?bla bla bla.. american indoctrination.. your getting killed over there.. !!! or dont you know as a medic..? and you have such a good care program for your soldier peeps AFTER the war dont yyou lol (thannx for fighting tup and fok you ! whos helping your buddies with the sleepy problems huh NO-1 )come on man give me a break,, that americans arent so smart okay.. but dont try to pretend the rest of the world doesn't know you arent.. ? ? (all the after effects on soldiers (chem weapons) of iraq went over the WORLD !!)
maybe you shoud have send a bom to afganistan and iraq.. instead of half your teenagers.. what will inervertable be the next fokked up generation over there..while half the country allready is going to hell
but dont get me wrong i am not a hater,. i feel sorry 4 u .. really i do, although it does not sound so nice in this context.. Frown

yeah bud.. we know !!
