Cody Kelley, 2020 China Peak Enduro champ / 2nd series overallPRESS RELEASE: California Enduro Series presented by SpecializedCalifornia Enduro Series is excited to announce the 2021 race schedule with three popular events currently lined up.
The
China Peak Enduro, presented by China Peak Mountain Resort — which has been on the CES calendar since the debut of the series — will take place
Saturday June 26 in Lakeshore.
The
Mt. Shasta Enduro, presented by Mt. Shasta Ski Park in McCloud, will then bring racers to the south slope of NorCal’s iconic Mt. Shasta on
Saturday July 17 for a third year on the CES schedule.
The 2021 season is scheduled to conclude as usual with the
Ashland Mountain Challenge, presented by Ashland Mountain Adventures, just over the California/Oregon border in Ashland. The
date is yet to be determined for this event.
All three of these upcoming races went off without a hitch last season, showing 2020 that it couldn’t keep Enduro down. Naturally, CES and race organizers anticipate adhering to special COVID-19 protocol again this season to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Additional events are not out of the question; this of course depends on how things unfold over the coming weeks and months.
CES Director Steve Gemelos explains, “Event permits are understandably difficult for organizers to obtain due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re hopeful that, as the situation improves, we’ll be able to add more races to the schedule.”
He adds, “That said, we sure look forward to seeing our CES race family out there at some of our favorite venues this season!”
Essence Florie, 2020 China Peak Enduro champ / 2nd series overallFOX Queen StageThe FOX Queen Stage returns for each race for this season. The racer in each category with the fastest time on this particular stage will get bonus points towards their overall ranking.
Stage WinsOf course, winning a race and winning the overall are the goals, but we all like stage wins as well. For the 2021 season, the series will again be tracking stage wins, offering a bonus prize for the male and female amateur racer with the most stage wins at the end of the season.
eMTB CategorieseMTB categories will be available at China Peak Enduro and Mt. Shasta Enduro. These four categories are: Open eMTB Men, Open eMTB Women, Sport eMTB Men, and Sport eMTB.
Sponsoring the SeriesCES is made possible by the generous sponsorship of industry and community businesses.
The series is grateful for the continued support of title sponsor Specialized, official suspension sponsor FOX, Race Face, SANS, WTB, Voler, Cranked Naturals, Michael David Winery, User Testing, Galfer USA, Adventure Sports Journal, Intense, Zodiac Lights and GÜP.
