I mean, do Mondraker Engineers really think someone will steal their technology ? Kind of find these frame hiding stuffs ridiculous in our industry
  • 86 3
Its more for marketing. It worked you are talking about it
  • 11 5
@taskmgr: i think the purpose of marketing is so you buy something..??
  • 15 1
@scary1: you won't buy something unless you've heard of it. so if someone is talking about it, now you've heard of it. first step in the decision to purchase is awareness
  • 6 1
@taskmgr: i am talking about it , but really consider buying the Marin instead !
  • 5 1
@scary1: marketing is not necessarily to make you buy things. You buying them is great, but there’s more than that. It’s for brand recognition and for you to think about the brand when you’re shopping. You may even end up recommending them to someone in a list when giving advice.

It’s the reason people think about Coach, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Rolls Royce, etc when you think about luxury. Even if you yourself don’t necessarily buy them.

It makes me want to buy one of those frame hiders so I can say I ride a prototype.
  • 27 0
@nickfranko: I wear a bag on my head hoping someone will take interest
  • 2 0
Well maybe it´s there to bring an attention from the BB area, which looks really interesting
  • 1 0
@tidnes: Put it on an orange
  • 40 6
The prototype looks sooo much better the the Phoenix!!!! I'm just praying that they sell it like how it looks now!!
  • 8 1
pray harder! guess it's highly unlikely but would love to see it as well.
  • 10 0
I'd take the bbetter BB clearance and 2x chain layout any day over an idler setup. Checked the proto out in Val di sole and it's a proper jaw-dropper. So sick, can't wait to see how this manifests in a production frame.
  • 9 1
seriously @pivotcycles, can you just be cool for once and give the people what we want!?
  • 5 0
@scotteh: I guess they'll have a hard time to balance the what people want with potential dentistry comments b.c. making it the way the prototype is made is going to be well steep Big Grin
  • 1 1
@ESKato: Not if they make 5 of them. For sure a VERY limited run would be snapped up by rich racers, collectors, and people who just wouldn't buy a market-spec DH bike. $7777 is my suggestion for a price.
  • 1 1
Brings me back to the early 2000's. It's amazing.
  • 1 0
For sure it would be a blast to ride , but when i think about maintenance not sure i want one of those
  • 20 1

  • 4 0
 @wellbastardfast:

He came 5th out of 17 in the seniors (19-34) category.

Probably will get kidneys too .
  • 14 0
God I want to try one of those Zerodes so bad ! Looks amazing
  • 2 1
If only there was a trigger shifter for the pinion. Only advantage of the grip shifter is dumping a heap of gears at once but you don't do that on a dh bike with 6 gears.
  • 1 0
 @spicysparkes: pinion.eu/en/smartshift

It exists. Gamux has it on their DH bike. Priority is bringing out a new hardtail with it, too.

Not only push button, but it will shift under load.

I would love to get my hands on a G3, and the frame pricing is actually pretty reasonable, but they're not generally available yet.
  • 1 0
@MorganBH: Do you know how much the G3 goes for ? I couldn't find anything on their website
  • 1 0
@asapyohanes: You have to sign up to be on their e-mail list. If I remember correctly, it was looking like about 3500 USD with the drive train.
  • 13 2
Leatt: "You get a clothing sponsorship! YOU get a clothing sponsorship! YOU GET A CLOTHING SPONSORSHIP! EVERYBODY LOOK UNDER YOUR SEATS!!!! YOU'RE ALL GETTING CLOTHING SPONSORSHIPS!!!!!"
  • 3 0
leatts been looking after alot of riders while the same riders or brands dont push their stuff in your face... thats why i buy leatt stuff... except their shoes, i had two pairs both were rubbish lol

 slightly different structural mass

It's steed not stead... As in "on their unreleased Forbidden DH steed"... Unless DH Stead is the name of the unreleased Forbidden bike. In which case, never mind.
  • 7 0
Unreleased Forbidden is a beauty and that Yeti looking good too!
  • 5 0
The Zerode looks like someone got carried away with the clone tool in PS and accidently took out the seat tube.
  • 3 0
A generative AI's idea of a DH bike
  • 2 0
Tuhoto-Ariki Pêne and Rachel Pageau with high-end bikes and low-end cranks (slx and Zee)...
Kind of nice to see, that even pro riders have to compromise and don't always ride with the latest and most expensive shit on the market
  • 4 1
Since NS BIkes was bought by a bank in 2021 they have not made any new bikes....What is up NS Bikes? Are you closing shop?
  • 1 0
If you look a little closer at that bike you'll notice it's a six bar prototype, so something's happening
  • 1 1
That George Chapman has a pretty cool bikeywa or whatever. But WHO IS SHE in the background in the white shirt and jorts. I think we might have a lot in common and perhaps a brotha could get her number. Jorts are my favorite pajamas. Thick thighs save lives, Carl out
  • 2 0
Kudos to Mark Wallace racing in slides/flip flops/whatever they are called this week.
  • 3 1
 Thongs
  • 3 1
 @boozed: Jandals!!!!
  • 1 0
anyone else notice the rider with the bike with the handlebar and upper stanchions wrapped in foam in the 9th pic, to the left of Ellie Smith's? What's up with his setup?
  • 5 3
Someone ate all the whistler pies
  • 7 0
Have you ever been to the Whistler pie shop? It's seriously good. Check out Peaked Pies in Whistler.
  • 1 1
Each race more so, its noticeable. Momentum seems to work
  • 1 0
How fitting would it be if the "secret shroud" was on any of the Forbidden bikes.
  • 1 0
To borrow a phrase from the glorious '70s, those Raaw look "put together like a brick house!"
  • 2 0
Anyone else notice the brakes on Connor's bike. 6 piston SRAM brakes?
  • 2 0
Would love to see some more Zerode pics.
  • 2 0
Old Forbidden looks so much better than the new one :/
  • 5 6
I thought Connor's misalignment of his valve stems was bad, then I came across Jake Newell. Are these people trying to mess with me head? My OCD cannot handle this madness.
  • 9 7
Speaking of OCD, the sloppy grammar and spelling in your post is bound to rile some people up.
  • 3 0
I guess you didn't notice Mark Wallace's 200mm Rotor in the front and 220mm in the back...
  • 2 0
Heath Potton with the invisible misaligned rear valve (probably behind the chainstay) and mismatched rims, Matt Walker with the valve off the end of the brand, Bailey with the blasphemous alignment to the tire name and not the Maxxis. There's a few others you could get upset about.
  • 1 3
@pisga " Bailey with the blasphemous alignment to the tire name and not the Maxxis"

The proper way is to line up the valve with the tire size/max pressure hot patch..
  • 2 0
@Joecx: I mean, it's all in good fun and just a joke. There is absolutely no "proper" way to do it the tires function perfectly fine in an orientation.
  • 1 1
@jomacba: or his choice of footwear
  • 3 0
@mi-bike: Those are clip flops... You don't wear those?
  • 1 2
 @jomacba: I'm on clipless flops
  • 2 0
@mi-bike: I'm on a new trend myself to be honest. They are called Clip Crocs.
  • 1 0
@pisgahgnar: I should have put a smiley face as it was meant as joke also but I do line mine up that way :-)
  • 2 0
@mi-bike: Whats wrong with me spelling and grammar?
  • 1 0
@Goose76 Miranda Miller is guilty as well.
  • 1 0
Look at Ainhoa's rear rotor too
  • 1 0
What is going on with Elijah Barron's downtube?
  • 1 0
 Vali on Continental tires. Interesting.
  • 1 0
 Looks Like a Session Prototype.
  • 1 0
That Marin looks like such a good park bike.
  • 1 0
respect to Jake Newell for riding a Norco Sight down that track.
  • 1 0
That Mondraker looks like a Specialized
  • 1 0
When did 1980's Tom Cruise start riding for Yeti?
  • 1 1
That devinci look is way too small.
  • 1 0
 New discipline...Downslope
  • 1 0
 It is still beautiful though
  • 1 0
 That Zerode looks nice.
  • 1 1
 That Zerode, Yeti and Propain!
  • 1 0
 Big up the Zerode.
  • 1 2
Some of these bikes are making a Pivot to really long wheelbases.
