PRESS RELEASE: Canadian National Enduro Series

Welcome to Round #5, Camp Fortune, QC, of the MEC Canadian National Enduro Series, presented by Intense Cycles.

Canada's favourite enduro series sets down in Quebec this weekend at Camp Fortune! This Canada Day long weekend, come ride what's likely to be the gnarliest enduro east of the rockies, as we tackle rocks bigger than Trudeau's Instagram account, and explore some of the most iconic trails just outside the Nation's Capital of Ottawa.

What's even better is that we're bringing back the "East vs. West Shootout", where we'll finally settle the score of what side of the country has the fastest enduro riders. Riders are automatically entered, we'll simply count the top 3 finishers in each category apportioning 3 points for first, 2 for second and 1 for third, the side of the country with the most points wins bragging rights. For all you West Coast warriors, ensure your bring DH tires, as #CampFortuneIsGnarlierThanTheShore, and they're not dumbing it down anytime soon.

We're also stoked to say that we've brought 5 of our CNES Development team members to showcase the up and coming enduro talent this country has to offer, so we'd like to invite any U21 shredders out to pre-ride with the team on Saturday, we'll be meeting around 11am, to practice, it's super informal, just more of a meet and greet.

Alrighty, check out the course below, and prepare yourself, this isn't for beginners or weak intermediates, it's the real deal, Quebec style!

TRAIL LOVE

We wanna give a massive shout-out to the crew at Camp Fortune, Robb, Matt, Kieran, OMBA, Matt W., all the guys busting their but and keeping things legit. It's been a while since I've ridden trails this rough, and it just proves that length isn't everything, great trail design is really about utilizing the terrain you have. There's no way I could ride 10 minutes of these trails, I'd be toast. So cheers to the trail bosses!

Proud to see my trail Social Decline on the list so I've buffed it up for the CNES. Maybe it will set a record for shortest stage ever.

You da man @beachboyottawa !! With the creation of SD, I now have two extremely fun things to do that take ~1 min!! Wink

Dude!!! Thank you @beachboyottawa, that trail is amazing!!!

Yes! It's also in the best shape it's been since you built it!! Thank you!

I'm stoked to see my home trails up in PB. Good Luck to all the riders and if you've never been and have time please treat yourself to a ride down OZ and Hairway. 2 of my all time favorite runs.

That is awesome that Camp Fortune will host an enduro race! I will definitely make my way there to check it out.

I ride there a bit and I have to say that some of the trails are very "rock and roll" so it should be great to watch.

Gotta say despite the lack of vertical, the trails in Camp Fortune are rowdier than most of the trails we have here in BC. It's been 10 years since I rode there - do they still open the lifts for DH on weekends?
  • + 1
The lifts are slated to open up at the end of August or sometime in September....all depending if they get the lift serviced in time. And glad to hear you're enjoying the trails! Definitely some pretty rowdy decents around here...it was quite the wake up call to learn how to mountain bike on these type of trails. Forces you to hone your skills thats for sure!! If you can ride fortune you can ride pretty much anywhere. Enjoy the trails man! Smile

generally yes + Wednesday evenings, but this year is the exception because they need to do some major work on the chairlift. So all pedaling this year, or at least until fall.
  • + 2
I agree. I lived in Ottawa last summer and couldn't believe how rough it was compared to the North Shore. Awesome trails out there!
  • + 1
Looks like a blast. Any word from the locals on when/if the lifts will be operational again for some DH weekends? Going to be out that way in August and it's been 13 years since I've ridden Camp Fortune.
  • + 1
Last word was August, but I believe it depends on how the lift work progresses.

 Love Camp Fortune!
