Canfield Brothers 2016 Balance
Striking a balance between efficient pedaling and all-out descending—an elusive feat claimed by many, realized by few. The all-new Canfield Brothers Balance is slacker, lower, faster and stronger, yet thanks to the patented Canfield Balance Formula suspension, it is an incredibly efficient pedaler capable of earning its turns.

Based on the efficient all-rounder that the ‘Bros rolled out in 2014, but calling on the hucking heritage of the original pedalable freeride rig that debuted a decade ago, the 2016 Canfield Brothers Balance was re-engineered with longer travel (165 millimeters/6.5 inches) and a lower leverage ratio for more consistent, smooth travel under hard riding, and a more progressive end stroke to swallow big hits. An all-new CNCed upper link increases stiffness, while a redesigned rear triangle improves tire clearance, and the frame is now crafted from bombproof 7005-series aluminum.

Combining the active CBF suspension with the rolling advantages of 27.5-inch (650b) wheels results in a fast, responsive ride, while handling is kept playful and confident with a slack 65-degree head-angle and even shorter 16.5-inch (420-millimeter) chainstays.

Didn't know it had 16.5in cs at the time but that would explain why it felt so nimble and liked to go in the air.
Any hydroforming done to thin areas where bulk isn't needed? Bikes looks killer-good updates!
.... Or I could be wrong, and as it stands, its one of the best weekend warrior race bikes... Lol
Good move in going to 165.
After having this bike now for a number of months as well as my previous 165 bike with a Monarch RC3, I think they should provide options to the Cane Creek. The RC3 at least has three pedal positions. The locked out mode is more effective than the CC Climb Switch. The middle position is great if you are going up and down a lot and can't be bother with reaching down. The descend position is every single bit as effective as the CC with more ramp up without fiddling a lot with the knobs.
The Balance line of bikes is amazing, but as Super D or Enduro racing rigs, they would be better served with the Monarch RC3 plus.
