As a new board member of the Aboriginal Youth Mountain Bike Program, I am pleased to announce we are running a crowd source fund-raising campaign. The Aboriginal Youth Mountain Biking Program is a group of mountain bike riders, coaches and community leaders who wish to support and encourage Aboriginal youth and communities to participate and excel in the sport of mountain biking.

AYMBP founder, Patrick Lucas, states: "Mountain biking has enjoyed remarkable growth over the past several decades and BC is known around the world for its substantial trail networks, skills parks and events and festivals. The Aboriginal Youth Mountain Biking Program is committed to supporting and encouraging youth and First Nation communities to get outdoors, reconnect with nature and live healthier active lives. All funds raised will support our programming with First Nation communities around the province supporting youth to get out doors and live healthy active lives. Your donation will go towards purchasing safety equipment and helping us to facilitate riding clinics in rural communities building leadership, team work, self-esteem and connections to nature for Aboriginal youth. Please donate today!"

If you donate more than $50 we'll provide you with one of our t-shirts with our logo designed by Coast Salish Artist, Mark Gauti.

You can donate at our Indiegogo campaign page. Please be sure to share our campaign on your Facebook page and with your social networks. Help us reach our goal and support healthy, active living in First Nation communities. You can also 'like' and 'share' our Facebook page.

Great initiative, great way to get the First Nations youth back onto their Traditional Territories! I fully support this program and am trying to get one of our First Nations communities engaged in this program.

Mountain biking has done so many great things for me and people I know. I think this project is an amazing idea. If anyone is looking for help running this program on South Vancouver Island I would be stoked to help. Feel free to contact me if I could be useful in any way.

Great idea indeed. No shirt for me, but I contributed what I can afford, and put the word out to two CFO's of two Native Bands on the island and the President of a large union in Vancouver! Good luck and thanks for this initiative.
