Two years after tragedy strikes, best friends Izzy Lynch and Tessa Treadway gather for a family bike trip in Golden, BC. Since losing her husband in 2019, Tessa has found her joy again in seeking out new adventures through mountain biking and farming while Izzy is finding relief in movement in the outdoors at seven months pregnant with her second child.

Plans go awry when a new cow escapes the pen on Tessa’s farm, and the bike adventure turns into searching for it with four young kids in tow. Follow along as Izzy and Tessa turn their trials into triumphs by way of the bicycle on the trails of Golden, BC.

Having kids is the most metal experience of my life. Those ladies are as gnar as any shredder.

Really enjoyed this video about the joys of simple times and what bikes can do for our everyday lives. My young daughter is an aspiring wildling, I look forward to sharing with her. Good luck with the cows!

Having to ride with your kids is by far for me is the hardest. Big part of it is the enjoyment and fun, the scary part are the crashes/fall, you’re always on the look out for safety. As a parent myself I tend slow down and ride behind but kids just love to ride fast and the jumps add more to the fun. Most of the time I crash more than my kids; I can’t keep up with them. And that’s why it’s hard to ride with your kids.

What a wonderful video. I can’t imagine the strength it took to keep forging ahead with children and the loss of a partner. All of those children look so alive and happy. I predict they will grow up to be well adjusted and happy adults.

If I go for a bike trip with buddies… can I call it a family bike trip? Asking for a friend.

Only if you spoon with a buddy. :-)

Super inspiring following Tessa journey. Her strength is only surpassed by the huge smile. Winning at life!

I don't get the down vote. I agree. You feel responsible when your kids fall because they're out there because you brought them. I run when the kids are riding but that's only feasible for now.

Their first video was part of the VIMFF last year - same concept - but skiing: vimeo.com/574547591

If you're a parent who's ever taken a gaggle of kids skiing, it's tremendously relatable.

Is there a backstory on spelling motherlode wrong? Or was it unintentional?

Motherlode has nothing to do with parenthood, at all. Motherload is therefore not a misspelling but rather a play on words, where load refers to the weight on the shoulders of a/this mum.
