Tacoma? Check. Local bike brand with hella street cred? Check. Dope trails that are just a little too wet? Check. Skilled rider? Check. Flannel? Oh Shit you forgot the flannel!! How can this ever be a legit PNW in the Fall video?!?!
@FUbob: every video has one of you douche bags complaining about the music!NOBODY cares if you like or dislike the music so please just shut the f*uck up with your opinion.
for mountain biking, oh yeah it can be. But I believe you because you live in same area/climate. But I've ridden on a day or two in my life, nuking rain, that i think pretty much destroyed most moving parts on my bike and the clean up was almost as long as the ride. Memorable? Sure, but not in a good way.
@cyclocrossmonkey: that’s swan creek? I️ had no idea SC had that kind of trails. I️ has always figured there wasn’t much to it but wow. Looks like I️ need to head south for some rides
@Deanosuar: Don't waste your time. That most certainly was not Swan Creek. I live about 30 minutes away from there and I'd rather drive farther for better riding.
Someone below is saying Bellingham which seems likely since that looks more like it. Plus the guys behind the video all seem like they're from there.
Thats how its done, kids! Silky smooth, didn't skid every corner, chill music that was in the background instead of front and center. No overly gratuitous sponsor footage. A little, but not a lot. Nice filming @bchapel, smooth riding @joecrosby
Exactly! Beyond everything else mentioned above, the audio was very well mixed. Loved the perfect balance between mellow background music and the raw sounds of riding. Looking forward to your next edit
Being one of the few ppl who may have dug on some of these trails, it be great if you didn't share exact locations as they are on private land like @mikekazimer said! Come to Bellingham we will show you.
Filming this video was actually the first time I had ridden those bigger jumps, or even been to that riding zone! It’s always awesome to check out new stuff!
Damn...that was a great video. Chill'in to that deep, mellow vibe while bro is absolutely killing that trail; a master at his craft. I've got to find that trail (not that I could ride all of it)
I love how people pm me bitching about how I “post trail locations” and act like a child when you’re nearly 40 years old. Pretty sure I’m giving no secrets away dirtbag.
Easy there, @mtbakerpow. Plenty of riders know where these trails are, but there’s no need to advertise the exact location on the internet. The best trails tend to be the ones that not every single person knows about.
Just be glad we're not on a fishing website. I let slip a location and people came after me like I'd dug up their dead grandmothers and molested them. Don't really understand the hate especially if it's a remote location. Rednecks (in both cycling and fishing) don't usually shit too far from the nearest road.
Any country that has the population density of the US (185th highest out of 246 - Canada 232nd), while at the same time suffering from serious land access issues (despite being the land of the free) needs to have a long hard collective think.
@mikekazimer: Why not? I love the mountain bike community because, in general, people are helpful. I love recommending trails to other riders. And it's not like if you share a trail like everybody's going to jump in their pickup and flock over there from all over the world. It gets put on their list if they're in the area. I don't get the need for secrecy.
@rrolly: amen, brother. We have lots of trails here in Bellingham. Come join us for a ride, have a beer at one of our fine breweries, consider buying a needed parts in one of our local shops, perhaps join is for a trail day or make a donation to the WMBC. But above all, come ride and share the stoke.
@mikekazimer: What an elitist comment. Yeah, the best trails are generally the ones that don't see all that much traffic but unless they're on private lands it'd be cool for riders to know where they are. Considering I'm stuck with about 6 trails locally and one dirt jump location that the public can ride that's roughly an hour away I'd be kinda pissed if I moved to the PNW and people were specifically hiding public trail locations from me.
@heffernw, that’s the thing. These trails are on private land, hence why it’s better not to mention exactly where they are. If you moved to the PNW you wouldn’t have any trouble finding trails - you just need to ask people in real life.
@g-42: Let's do a trade next year when the weather turns around. We'll host you and some buddies on the Shore, and you host me and a couple of buddies in B-ham. Trails and a local microbrew.
I'm debating whether or not to bring my Norco Sight down or demoing a Transition on your trails.
@mikekazimer: your comment doesn't make sense when you stop to think about it. You'll only ride the trails if you're in the area. So whether you get the trail info by asking a local in person or online shouldn't make a difference. Am I missing something here? Or are you worried the landowner would see this?
@rrolly: If someone asks where trails are in a public forum / comments sections, it's not just that person that sees the location - hundreds if not thousands of others do too. Obviously not all those people will go rush out to ride the trail, but still. In person, or in a private message it's a different story, and that's long been the preferred way to discuss trails in sensitive locations.
Good question...cr29 would lean me towards a 29" but looks like they have a cr29 in both 275 and 29. And now that all evils take piggback shock its hard to tell em apart from quick vid snapshots..
There is skidding and there is drifting. Skidding usually involved dragging the back tire immensely and it digs deep into the trail and causes braking bumps. From the riding in this vid and the speed he was able to carry through corners, he was drifting. It's about trusting turns, getting your knobbies to dig in, and every so often when you hit a corner just right and carry most of your speed into and out of it, there is an instant when traction is lost then regained a moment later. Enjoy the video and stop being a keyboard trail monitor, try it in person on your local trails, this was shot (according to comments above) on private land.
Local bike brand with hella street cred? Check.
Dope trails that are just a little too wet? Check.
Skilled rider? Check.
Flannel? Oh Shit you forgot the flannel!! How can this ever be a legit PNW in the Fall video?!?!
Crap music? Check.
This is the comments section and if you're so easily triggered maybe you shouldn't be reading them. Lighten up, Francis....

autumn is such a lush time of year.
what was the song? diggin that.
Highly recommend Kulshan Brewery.
And it isn't like Trailforks doesn't exist to show people where riding areas are.
