My recovery from shoulder surgery and attempt to become a downhill racer.Hi
My name is Sam. I'm 20 years old. I'm from Chamonix in France but I'm currently studying medicine in Dublin, Ireland. I recently had surgery on my dodgy left shoulder.
I started down-hilling last year and my goal for this year is to recover from this injury and become a proper downhill racer.
My goals so far for this coming year.
-Top 100 in Alpe d'Huez Megavalanche
-Top 25 in Oz en Oisans Avalanche Cup
-Race French Cups and Championships and hopefully obtain an elite status by the end of the season
-Enjoy riding my bike
I underwent a Bristow-Latarjet procedure on my shoulder on the 22nd of December. Here is a link for those of you who are interested in the procedure:

This leaves me off the downhill bike for a minimum of 3 months.Hopefully 4-5 weeks after the operation I can start running and at about 7-8 weeks I can start road biking.
I plan to follow a physical training routine as soon I can start and technical biking training as soon as my surgeon gives the go ahead (like I said about 3 months).
I am going to be writing weekly blog reports describing my recovery from my operation and my training routines. It will be similar to the blog jumble wrote last year. I will be posting as many videos and photos as I can.
I hope to achieve my goals and gain as much I can from input other riders can give me on Pinkbike.
Sam
