Summer is in full swing and it's time to pump up my event and fill you in on all the details, so here are all the tidbits that you need to know.

As you may or may not know, I have been doing this event on Mount Washington since back in the day. A lot has changed in my sport and I am stoked to say that I still enjoy doing events. Even though it kills my bank account, I still love it. I love to build and I love to hang and ride with my friends - some of my biggest motivations within my career.

That's why we all got into this in the first place, to ride and hang with buds, so I'm pretty proud to be able to put together a laid back event where the boys can come get their shred on without a lot of the pressures that other events seem to have due to TV and time restrictions.

For the amateur comp, I encourage all you shredders to come out and get your shred on. It's open to everyone, but I do stress that the amateur course will be on a portion of the pro course, so if you just learned an X-up on a 10 foot long jump, I would suggest you wait for next year's event. For amateur and pro level entrants that are below the age of 19, you must print and bring a signed waiver by your legal guardian. Bring it with you, because if you don't, you will not be able to ride. No exceptions.

For the pros, this will be the first year that this is a diamond level event. It's one of five events that count towards the world title with the Red Bull Rampage finishing off the year.

Not much will change for the atmosphere of the event, other than the boys will be throwing down harder than ever before to get some very valuable points for the overall.

Since I am never satisfied with my course, I changed a few things for this year. I propped up the boner log, making it steeper and taller, I rebuilt the step up, step down feature so that the step up landing is one foot lower and now has a four foot tall landing. The flat drop will be a mellow kicker drop, so now everyone can get nasty on the drop and it won't just be Pilgrim going upside down off of it. I also pushed the hip landing forward after the drop to give us a little more speed into the four pack.

Stay tuned for updates here on Pinkbike and from my twitter and Instagram accounts and I'll see you all there.

All my bikes have been nicked and the only one I have has got dual crown forks so can't actually do an x-up. However, I have hit 20m+ jumps, I can superman better than Clark Kent himself and flipped a 25m gapper just yesterday. Can I still enter?
Yours Sincerely,

My Wife and Son are in the last photo. That is an old Brett Tippie froriders poster he had all his mtb heroes sign the back and Tippie signed the front. Nice of Darren to take time for his fans while running and competing in this event. All while his lunch is getting cold! We try to hit this event every year and it is really is awe inspiring. Well done Darren keep up the good work!

That you will never see. Because who needs to see a diamond event to know how cool it is.

claw: "Sorry fellas, I'd love to have a live webcast but I don't have 100k to spend on it."
I made live transmission to internet in my country using few cameras (not in HD). It doesn't cost 100k, if its not redbulltv. I7 computer with 7 input cards give oprtunity to use 8-9 camcorders. I think it doesn't matter going live, if it is 480p or720p. Next year take a look at forum.vidblaster.com and talk to this guys, or send me prv. Regards

What is the point of a diamond event that does not have any coverage? Its one of what, 7 events all year that actually matter in the points for the fmb world cup and no one will see a full run of the course. What a joke.

For how rad this comp has been in the past years, making this a Diamond event was definitely the right move. Should be wild!
