PRESS RELEASE: Commencal

As another Enduro World Series season approaches, COMMENCAL is proud to announce an all-new project, entirely dedicated to enduro - The COMMENCAL ENDURO PROJECT!

There are no less than ten people involved in this new challenge, which is set to fully unfold over the next 3 years. Based 100% in Andorra, this team aims to develop our brand new range of enduro bikes, electric and otherwise. Similar to what we've done in DH, once again it's competitions and racing that will serve as the test bench or laboratory, this time for enduro. Frames, suspension, cockpits, wheels… They'll be working on all the elements with no exceptions, and all with the pure goal to make the best enduro bike.

You can now follow the team on Instagram !

Alex Rudeau, Guillaume Labeyrou, Louis Jeandel and Mathieu Ruffray are the riders included in this structure.

Schwalbe, Crankbrothers, Fox Suspension, Fizik and 100% are joining the project for this year. COMMENCAL Lifestyle will dress riders and staff.

Can’t wait until we learn that Commencal has purchased Outside & Pinkbike.

My GAIA 4X4 GPS app just kicked me out, said it had been acquired by Outside and made signing back in such a hassle that I deleted it. There are plenty of other 4X4 trail nav apps.......SMDH.

makes me wonder if future bikes will come with paywalls. they already come with electronics, so why not.
  • 1 0
Would probably be a good thing

As a fan of the highest levels of racing I have to tip my hat to this brand. Their commitment is admirable.

Don't they just. And that's not me being biased as i own one, for me they are hands down THE nicest looking bikes, all the range just look so clean.

Except that not even Commencal can make a mullet look good...

I will give them credit for tastefully subdued team kits on those riders. No moob-accentuating graphic features. Commenting for a friend.
  • 1 1
They ride good too. Really good

Commencal has like ten different teams and I am still in none of them! Come on Commencal, one rider more or less doesn't make a difference

They've got their own clothing line so you can probably buy their bike, clothing and set up a team like Just Reid back in the days. You could even invest in camera equipment from a certain brand and consider yourself gone pro.

I think I am on a Commencal team, and I don't race EWS, UCI DH or own a Commencal.
  • 11 1
Best bikes going. Fast and bullet proof.......and not a million dollars for an average build.

Cool that they sponsor so many teams / riders. Just built up a Meta TR yesterday. Can't wait to ride it. It is drool worthy gorgeous. There US customer service is second to none as well. Folks were awesome to deal with and the "a la cart" setup is so perfect.

What’s that like 14 different teams they have now

I was going to buy a Commencal but at this point I might as well just wait until I get sponsored.

They have more separate teams then they have bike models...
  • 1 0
The total number of teams including local teams may even be bigger, but that goes for the likes of Specialized etc. too. But yeah, they've got a lot of teams at the top level too. But it does work, doesn't it? If you want to be noticed on the race circuit, either get only a few top riders and hope for the best. Or get riders on different levels and you can be pretty sure you'll get noticed. And out of those "unproven" riders, the one who's doing surprisingly well is the underdog who will be loved by all. On top of that, they'll get props for investing in the scene and giving opportunities to up and coming riders. And rightly so.

Canyon's EWS team is flexing their budget on the WC team by being able to afford vowels in their name.
  • 3 0
is this the beginning of Commencal having 195 EWS teams, too?
  • 2 0
will they all ride a mullet since the full 29er is discontinued?
  • 1 0
They still have the Meta TR as a full 29er option which they used last year. The bike in all the pictures is the Meta SX, so it looks like they are going mullet this year.
  • 2 0
 Another one
  • 2 2
"enduro bikes, electric and otherwise" - you mean e-bikes and actual, real bicycles?
  • 1 1
 C'mon Pinkbeki,
when you do a press release please double check thé spelling of the riders name.. -.-
  • 2 4
How to prepare your Meta to EWS?
1. Replace overdamped digressive RS shock with pedalling platform working on rebound even on the open mode with anything not from RS
2. Done
  • 3 0
Yes replace the shock that has won 4 out of 5 of the last mens EWS championships with something else as its clearly not up to the job of winning EWS races.
  • 1 2
@mrtoodles: yes, because it was for sure a stock shock, not e.g. something with custom valves from NSR racing or million other tuners in the wild ...
  • 3 3
@lkubica: Lol yeah you have a different brand bushing Now its completely different product? lol hope you fast AF to talk like that
  • 1 1
Not a high pivot? Not interested....
  • 1 0
That's next year, but don't tell anyone lol. There's a reason why the Meta AM is not available in 2022. Just Google the 2018 Commencal Supreme SX. It's coming back but with all the latest geo updates and suspension kinematics changed. Commencal was ahead of the game, but it didn't sell because people were saying you had to ride a carbon 29er.
