Hey all,
Here at Patcham Place as some may already know, we have been having troubles with the local Council concerning the trails. We are currently in the process of getting the spot legalised, however, we need as many people as possible to sign this petition (which also serves as our Facebook infomation Page):
http://www.facebook.com/patchamplace Although they have not given any clear indication as to how many people need to sign (Like) this petition, we reckon that if we can get at least 1000 people to they shall have no other option than to keep the spot as the majority of people have shown that they want to keep it. We will all be extremely grateful if anyone and everyone signs (Likes) this page as every little does help. If anyone else has a similar problem feel free to share and we will be more than happy to help
Thanks very much and don’t forget to Like the petition!
Conor never stated in his post any names nor did he mention any single person or group was to blame; it was a polite message to assist in the protection our hard work.
Unlike Orangesi86 he used abusive language when posting his comment, which really reflects upon his jealous uninformed nature.
"coner why are we still getting the blame for that pile of shit that you lot protect and love so much?????? you or whoever dont want to start pointing fingers!!!!!!!!!! you dare blame charlie of compalaning to the council...or me or infact anybody i ride with,,,,,there will the a big problem that you,,,,boy wont be able to deal with. dont point fingers....si"
Simon clearly has no idea about what he is on about, or what this blog is on about either.
It may help in the petition to get an idea of the number of riders attending over the course of the week, their age and ability. The council should be supporting constructive, healthy things for young people. Statements from people explaining what the place means to them add personality to the campaign too. Maybe an agreed statement of conduct will give the council a sense of control but leave you to it?
We have a massive problem of obesity, anti social behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse. Brighton particularly is the drug death capital of the uk, 22% of men and 24% of women in the UK are obese and we've all seen West Street on a Friday night! It may help to quote some stats when comparing the positive act of riding with other negative behaviour; obesity, anti social behaviour and substance misuse are very, very expensive issues to manage.
Riding a bike is a great alternative to these and put in terms of the council's priorities (or rather budget) the people riding are doing something positive. Environmentally it's right next to a massive roundabout, petrol station and bridge so not really damaging a delicate habitat.
You've got some great photos on the FB page, it would make a good article for the Argus and help with exposure.
Keep it up, I may pop down some time...to watch
Stay Safe man
dont point fingers....si
I have not pointed any fingers.
All my best,
