This year started stronger than ever due to an upgrade to the Pro class, along with support from Transition Bikes and Endless Trail Bikeworx in Dobbs Ferry, NY. With plans for a coast-to-coast road trip, and 14 races on the schedule, 2013 was set to be a killer year.
2013 Bandit 26
Eating up rocks on the Bandit in New York.
University kept racing off the schedule for all of May. When finals ended on May 16, I packed my bags and jumped on an airplane, headed to LA for 3 weeks of wild times and unforgettable moments on the road. Stops included Laguna CA, Hurricane UT, Virgin UT, and Angelfire NM.
Riding trail bikes at Gooseberry Mesa was a blast! HUGE shout out to Over the Edge, the best bike shop in southwest Utah. Without their help (beta on trails, recommendations on where to camp, etc..) our stop in Hurricane, Utah would not have gone near as smooth.
Our view upon arrival in Virgin, Utah. It's fair to say stoakage levels where at an all time high!
The BANGER shot. Sending it in Virgin, Utah aboard the Tr450. Photo credit to Ben Stanziale.
We don't get views like this on the east coast!
Angelfire Bike Park is one of the raddest places on earth! The trails are rough and gnarly, the staff is accommodating, and the vibes are unreal! The bike park demos Transitions too!
Unfortunately my luck ran out on May 25, our last day at Angelfire Bike Park. A blown front tire, led to a freak OTB wreck, and a broken wrist. On the bright side, it was a clean fracture, requiring only time to heal. With a diagnosis of 8 weeks, I should be back on the bike by mid-July and be able to start racing in August. I’d like to thank Transition Bikes and Endless Trail Bikeworx for the continued support.
