A rider who is currently laid up with multiple injuries from a crash is probably not the best poster child for your companies protective equipment. Just a thought.

Yeah it’s good but not that good .

@ninjatarian: When she crashed on the dirt-jumps, she only wore her helmet and gloves, and not any other protection.

"You've got to have a body that's ready to crash" :'D

@ninjatarian: in another perspective , the people who injured the most or/and worst, will be more cautious on the safety deparment
  • 4 2
@ninjatarian: it’s not like you can expect any gear to save you from injury when your riding at tahnees race pace and crash

not a lot can stop an ankle break and dislocation......?
  • 1 1
@om1wan: If that was the case people would stop riding after a bad crash.

I am going to call out PinkBIke for the shitty content. yeah its paid aad by D3O put at least "Proof Read" the damn thing I am sure the paid so good cash for it. The person how wrote that sounds like they don't know what tha hell is a World Cup Race? and they don't seem to know that their Ad start had another injury in 2020.

CHEAP CONTENT, AMATEUR HOUR! You better that this PinkBike!!!

Talks protection.. but doesnt wear enough ..

What does being in a male dominated sport got anything to do with wearing protective clothing? Why even mention that?
  • 2 0
Exactly what i was about to ask.
  • 5 0
If I put this on will it glow like Tahnee?!
  • 5 0
"what we need now is a viral ad"
  • 3 0
I love seeing Tahnee ride, but whoever filmed and edited this video successfully made good riding look bad. The angles, cuts, speeds, etc looked all wrong.

I would like to hear a pro, or some pros interviewed on why they're not wearing neck braces.
  • 8 6
It don't know what to make of this, I heard she doesn't like protection. Just gets in the way and reduces the tactile sensations and reduces propriception. So confused.
  • 5 2
Why no neck brace? Genuine curiosity. 40% less collarbone breaks seems like a season-extender
  • 6 7
I don't think they prevent collarbone injuries, may even cause more.
  • 8 1
@EckNZ: no, they reduce the risk of collarbone breaks by 40%. The 90% reduction in paralysis style neck injuries is a nice benefit too. Read the study!

@Mtmw: While I won't argue with the data provided, I wish they would have included the total number of riders over that time period. Just using the stats of injured riders leaves out a significant data set.
  • 2 0
@reilly: `10,000 riders over ten years. Having trouble finding a link to the raw PDF from EMS but it's worth a read
  • 3 1
@Mtmw: It'd be interesting to see, anecdotal evidence I've come across points to braces sacrificing collar bones to protect the spine. I'd trust the data if the science stands up.
  • 10 0
@ROOTminus1: I held the same belief, and with an old neck injury I was willing to make that sacrifice. But after reading the study, as well as hearing Chris Leatt discuss this very topic, I now see no downsides to neck braces. His interview on the Downtime Podcast is a good one.
  • 2 0
@reilly: riders who didn't crash or didn't do it hard enough to need medical examination can not be included in the study, there's no point
  • 4 0
On the bright side, 2020 is a good year to test your healing abilities.

Looks like Tahnee picked the right time to be out for most of the season...
