After a good days digging up at Moelfre the team managed to get the original race line refurbished and looking better than ever!
If you want to ride Moelfre here are the events for the next 3 weekends!
25th October - MTBuplfts
1st November - MTBuplifts
7-8th November - Borderline Events, Midland Championships
Take a look through the photos from Sundays digging.
Making it easier to stay off the brakes up top we've added a couple of nice berms to hold you in.
Anybody who has ridden Moelfre will know the long left at the end of the top section, now its smooth as a ......
It might not look much but this drop has claimed a few victims in the past, we've taken out a few big rocks and smoothed a few holes, don't worry about gnarleyness, its still up around 7 - 8
I know a lot of you are thinking 'good one, but enough of the smooth "easier" stuff' ... well its not finished yet but were building a gap over the road, a proper one.
The higher line will be the new landing, the idea is to give a slight down slope to the landing so it makes it worth the plumbs you've used to hit the gap.
The bus stop on the single track has a kicker again, so its possible to gap the whole things if you have enough fruit left in your basket?
The corner before the wall drop had a bit of a makeover as well
As we all know Moelfre can get pretty windy, because were kind we've put in wind breakers for the marshals in 3 positions on the top section, the first dedicated marshal "huts" in the UK?
marshals can add more stones if they please.
Not forgetting the riders waiting at the top, We've also dug out some holes for you to take cover to stop your hair getting blown about.
There has been a few dig days in the past with only 2-3 people turn. With double the number of helpers there was a huge amount more work completed.
We will be having another dig day shortly after the Race on the 7-8th November.
A big thanks to everyone that helped out on Sunday.
