As the first big race of the season, there's always a few interesting bits and bobs to check out at the Andes Pacifico. Here's a rundown of the best tech we've spotted so far out in Chile.Pedro Burn's TrekPedro Burns ended the day on top in the Andes yesterday, here's the Trek Slash that took him there.
Trek machined Pedro Burns a custom mount for his Garmin that bolts right to the top tube.

The tool is only used for constructing/deconstructing the linkage for service etc.
No reason for it to be on there when riding, mines been in the box since it got it. No idea why he has it on there or why they’ve photographed it.
Rumours on a new Hightower or HTLT are floating around for Months, but either no new Bike or Santa Cruz is very good @hidding their Prototypes
They are going to be pulled kicking and screaming in to the present and on their terms.
And you're right, I don't think we'll see a Megatower/Highertower until Sea Otter.
Should be released shortly when the let Jerome drive around at events with such an intensive media coverage!
Prise de la Bastille!

They find it funny because they need warranty.
I hope I have just the exception because I really like those tires. But they are hell of a workout if your only on fire roads uphill you really notice the difference even when the weight is the same to others.
The rear rubber is really not a hard compound what I find odd because this is the EWS race tire?! Other than those cracks they are puncture proof for me, set and forget it.

The Stamina still offsets the yoke that connects the shock to the top tube.
@NickB01 is a gentleman and a scholar!!!
That seat tube should have been a bigger give-away than it was.
@davetrumpore I trusted you, I can't believe you've done this!
3. On the Stamina the upper link connects to the shaft, on the Machine they're inverted so the shaft connects to the yoke. Also note the Stamina has a straight top tube, the Machine is curved - hence why I noticed it.
4. Again, compare the logo on the seat tube in this image to the main image and the lack thereof.
Can you downvote that so I can at least hide my shame?

Loosely related, Jerome is seriously attempting to outdo Nico Vink at being the most metal out there. With Slayer doing their last tour (and poor Pat O'Brien not even being able to play because he had some issues with his home) Nico really needs to find some new helmet decoration or he'll forever lose his spot.

Lets be real anything from Bontrager is the just shittier version of something Giro or Shimano has already done better.
Worked for Trek for years and can't even begin to tell you what a ripoff that stuff is
"Wow, that's *so enlightening* that dudebro and his sponsors are cool with using a term that *he* doesn't think of as racist even though they know it's off-the-charts offensive to half the sport's fans."
You're right, that is a beautiful international thing, you skids-in-your-chamois Trumpclown.
Either way, I can speak decent English but apparently I talk to too few proper racists to be aware that Sambo is a racist term. And as you can read from other comments here, the guy was being called Sambo in the area he grew up with. Very unlikely with racist intentions. He may want to stop using that nickname if racists would make him their mascot or use his pictures for the wrong reasons. But until then, I see no wrong. What happens if you ever go to a country like India and see peoples homes decorated with swastikas? Would you freak out just like this because you may only recognize this symbol from the nazis or would you accept that it is much much older than that and has no disrespectful meaning or intentions?
Now please keep your shitty chamois and your president to yourself. You already dragged stuff way out of context, I really don't feel like discussing your politics and laundry here too.
