@Jo-rides: I imagine it has something to do with the fact that the trails we're riding have the same size bumps.

I feel like instead of testing how fast bikes that are designed to go downhill go uphill, pinkbike could actually do some testing to figure out whether pedal kickback actually exists.

What makes you think xx1 is XC?

your friends are lame if they don't want to ride with you unless you get an ebike. I ride with slower people all the time, and instead of telling them to buy an ebike I just ride slower and enjoy their company. When my fast friends want to ride a big day with a ton of climbing I politely decline as I don't want to hold them up all day. It's not hard to be a decent person.

Not a dog trainer but my non-expert experience with training dogs and e-collars is that is not going to help your situation. They have their place, but the foundation starts with training. I think it's best to think of them as a precise and remote clicker - they are designed to focus your dog's attention on you, not "shock" the dog into submission. If I were in your situation, I'd consult a professional dog trainer for solutions.

@Naturel: in the US, having health insurance and being stuck with insurmountable medical expenses are not mutually exclusive.

@mi-bike: It'll be a lot easier to find non-e-bike manufacturers when Yamaha and Honda decide to jump into the market and obliterate current brands with R&D budgets that dwarf Specialized's entire revenue stream. It amazes me that these small brands want to broaden the market so much that they'll attract the big boys.
