Bent my TMAC pedal and crank riding the other night and was bummed about having to use my old pedals in the interim while the shop works with Deity's excellent customer service program to (hopefully) repair my TMAC's like they did the last time I bent a pedal. After riding the TMAC's for years I absolutely hate having to ride with other pedals that don't have near the grip or platform size.

Lucky for me when I went to the shop I was able to pick up a pair of the Deftraps to use in the meantime - at 50 bucks this is so worth it for me to have a spare set to ride that feels almost identical to the TMAC's (after the first ride I can 100% confirm this is the case - can't comment on the durability yet)

Thanks for picking up a pair of DEFTRAP Pedals and we have your back on your TMAC rebuild! Sounds like you encountered some serious impact! Cheers

@deityusa: Thanks! I'm just lucky it was the back pedal and I was able to ride it out. I bruised my ankle even though I never left the pedals so I was lucky to avoid a serious crash.

At 250 lbs and given the impact force and nature of the pedal strike I was pretty stoked that it only bent things - the air to rock strike could have broken a lesser pedal.

@therev34: Glad you are ok! Keep us posted how you like the DEFTRAP! Much love.

No need for both pedals, he seems to spend most of his time without a foot on either side. I have dreams of scrubbing jumps and looking like that.

Promotional video about pedals. Rider barely stays on them! Sick video though!

@learningcycles: His one foot tables are smooth, but Steve Romaniuk had the best ever.
Sick edit fellas !

not a hater, but only the ideea crossed my mind.....owning a 7 grand bike and having ohlins suspension, the t-mac should be the choice...make a video with a slx bike with rhytm suspension... sorry for the ideea, no wanting to be a jerk...

I understand what you're saying, but what if he prefers a composite pedal?

A lesson I leaned from bmx is that composite or plastic pedals are a bit easier on your shins. Maybe thats why?

They dampen the impact of pedal strikes, they tend to not look so bad when they get roughed up due to being a uniform color throughout.

one more thumbs up on tmacs. pins out, grip tape on! been supporting Deity since 2013. thanks for the sweet products. however, could you bring back the trails building love that made you guys so cool to start with(shovels and picks on t-shirts go a long way-remember the wheelbarrow!), wish you still emphasized dirt jumping but go with the money. i get it. Racers can still throw a little dirt too. i think.

Why am I overly attracted to this pedal? Might it be something to do with an attractive blonde woman at 0:05-0:06, 0:07, 0:11 and 0:19-0:20 seconds of the video?! Come on @deityusa, is this the 70's? if you need to use sex to sell a pedal, then I'm definitely buying it!

Awesome video! trying to convince myself to swap from the Oneup composites to the deities but the inside plastic pins are giving me pause.

If you get a chance...try out the DEFTRAP on someones bike as they are very unique and feel very different than what you are running. The concave body shape and non-offset profile sets those pins inside and tucked away. The feedback we get from everyone who runs them is that they feel like a TMAC and if you have been on a TMAC...it is known as the best traction industry wide.

@deityusa: thanks for the reply! Most of my friends run TMAC's and they are amazing. I just couldn't afford to run anything close to them until I saw the DEFTRAP release the other day! I will likely pick up a set of black ones to try them out! Thanks again for the info.

@Markwill: Not a problem! We appreciate the love.

Hey, sick edit! Do you guys know of anywhere to get these in Ireland. I know my local bike shop stocks the older Deity composite pedals (The Bike Rack). Do you think they will get the new ones?

Does anybody know where I can buy these in Germany? On their website shipping is non-affordable ;-)

We are currently hunting for a distributor in Germany. In the meantime, try getting in touch with FDF Bike Shop. You can access their info on the Contact page of our site. Thanks for the support and getting DEITY into Germany is at the top of our list at the moment. Cheers!

There is a local track here in Wellington called McMillans and I've always wondered if it was built by Dave or his father.
