Normally a quiet and sleepy town, once a year Echo, Oregon comes to life with the Echo Red2Red Race. Put on by local bike shop owner Stephany Meyers, the race has been happening for seven years now. The unique aspect of this race, aside from happening in February, is that all the trails are on private land. The local winery, Sno Road Winery, opens up their land for public use, allowing trail building and racing to happen.

This is like baby wine country. Wish all the vineyards here would build trails and host races. We would have 100s of trails and races a year. Good for Sno Road Winery for hosing this.

Sad I never got to do this race when I lived in Hood River. Looks like a nice way to kick off the season after a rough winter.

Echo R2R is a great season opener - it's unreal how it can be sunny and dry over there while the west side of the cascades is still in mid winter. Really fun course as well.
