Tribe Outdoors - One Tribe Bracelets

In today’s world we appear to be so connected, but at times struggle to make meaningful connections with others. For Mike LeBeau, the founder of Tribe Outdoors, the idea of the app came while trekking across Europe. There had to be an easier way for connecting people with similar passions for adventure. The concept manifested until ultimately Mike walked away from a career that didn’t satisfy his soul to follow his passion of connecting people around theirs; being in the outdoors.

Tribe Outdoors is a mobile application for outdoor enthusiasts with the mission of connecting people with nature, the present moment and each other to share meaningful experiences together - offline. They believe in leveraging technology for its ability to connect us and then leaving it behind. Connect Online to Go Offline.

Technology has given us a million ways to connect, yet finding your tribe in the outdoors is still a challenge. Have you ever missed out on an adventure because you didn’t have someone to go with? This is because outdoor communities can be fragmented all across the web and lack a centralized platform where people can easily discover events and connect.

These are the voids that Mike recognized with existing options for connecting in the outdoors:
Meetup - demographic skews older and diluted by broad scope
Facebook - focuses on existing friends, not meeting new ones offline
Dating apps - are just that

After years of watching from the sidelines...it was finally time to cut the ripcord and go all in! Bootstrapping with personal savings and help from two very talented co-founders, they began trying to solve this problem.

Then life happened. Nearly three years ago, the loss of Mike’s sister to cancer led him to Colombia in search of closure and direction in his life. Along his journey, he met a very special tribe who’ve held on to their ancestral wisdom for living in harmony with the Earth. They graciously introduced him to their ancient traditions and culture, and their relationship has grown ever since.

This brings us to where we are today. Tribe Outdoors has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to advance a new prototype of the app which will bring their mobile application to all platforms. They’ve partnered with the tribe from Colombia to offer a very rare and authentic reward for anyone who supports their Kickstarter campaign.

The One Tribe Bracelet symbolizes respect for the Earth and reminds us that we’re all one tribe - connected through nature. There are over 1200 beads hand-woven in every bracelet with beautiful symmetry and symbolic design.

By purchasing a bracelet, you’re helping Tribe Outdoors bring their new prototype to life. In addition, a high percentage of every pledge goes directly back to the tribe in Colombia weaving these bracelets for our community, thereby providing another source of income for their families. You not only get good Karma by supporting this movement but also get to wear good Karma.

While technology’s great and empowers us in fantastic ways, we all know that it comes with a price. The price for being constantly connected is that ultimately we become disconnected from ourselves, each other and our sweet Mother Earth.
