Mariana Salazar and Neko Mullaly are the new Elite American Continental DH Champions. The track got really eroded and the fastest time was only two hundreds of a second faster than yesterday. In the Juniors field less than half a second stood between 1st (Sebastian Holguin - Colombia) and 3rd (Mateo Negri - Peru). South American riders got talent, where are the sponsors?

Neko Mullaly (USA) 1st, Magnus Manson (Canada) 2nd, Tyler Ervin (USA) 3rd, Sebastian Alfaro (Peru) 4th, Steve Estabrook (USA) 5TH. It was great to see riders from 14 countries and from all over the world like Johannes Fishbach who made it to the top 5 but the awards ceremony is only for American riders.

Junior podium. Sebastian Holguin (Colombia) 1st, Colin Mcelyea (USA) 2nd, Mateo Negri (Peru) 3rd. Props to these youngsters who made it to the top 10 overall we can go to sleep knowing the next DH generation is safe in your hands.

The next American Continental Championships will be at Cusco - Peru in October 2023.

Hoping for the best. He seems like a nice, hardworking guy. On the World Stage though it's tough to get too excited since he isn't often in the top 25-30. Maybe 2022 will change that for him. He's still fairly young and with Gwin seemingly backing off a bit it would be nice to see another American make their way into the top 10 or so.

Standing outside in the open air, sun shining beautiful day! Don't forget your required mask with nose hanging out. Can we stop the insanity already? If you're all outside in your N95 masks tight and worn correctly...fine, I don't agree its necessary but at least you're sticking to your guns and making some sort of logical sense that you don't want droplets in or out. It's like watching my nephew's varsity basketball game when they're all running around with masks on their chin....wtf?

@humoroususername: Screw the government, I'm listening to scientists and the "experts" who spent years studying their subjects (much like the engineers you trust to design your frame and stop it from snapping when you ride over a twig) and they have stated multiple times that high quality, correctly worn masks help prevent the spread of diseases. If rationale and reason were being applied here, as you suggest, someone with authority would step in and demand they wear the masks correctly.

However, due to grown adults shouting at clouds at an embarrassingly high volume and throwing tantrums at being asked to just show some f*cking respect for someone, anyone, who is not themselves, officials in many walks of life are tired and downtrodden at having to ask for them to adhere to the simplest directive that has ever been issued and so now don't seem to bother.

It's shameful and damning of where we find ourselves as a culture.

Stop whining, wear a mask, and grow the f*ck up.

Do correctly worn N95 masks reduce transmission indoors? Yes, there appears to be evidence for that. Now, where exactly are N95 masks mandated? As far as I am aware any old face covering is accepted in basically all situations. I can't recall seeing an n95 mask on anyone recently.
Is there any evidence that Covid transmits outdoors? No, there is absolutely f*ck all decent evidence so why on earth would anyone try to argue masks should be worn outside. It's deranged and shows a serious inability to form a reasoned argument. If you think someone is being unreasonable for complaining about wearing a mask outside then you are an a*shole. Is that not clear?

Ps. I've worn masks throughout this entire charade. Does that mean I'm grown up in your mind?

@MumblesBarn: Dozens of doctors and nurses I know were signing petitions in NY to remove the mask mandate. But I assume these aren't the correct experts and you only listen to experts that support the conclusion you already came to? What if two "experts" have differing opinions?

So much of this stuff is political and has nothing to do with "experts". Also, @MumblesBarn what experts are you referring to? Do you think all experts have the same opinion? I can show you 10 different economists and they will give you 10 different theories on how to deal with economic issues. I can show you 10 different doctors and they will tell you 10 different ways to treat an injury.

And which experts are the ones that have the unique qualification to make the wisest decisions when it comes to dealing with a disease? Like what degree did they study that advised them on all of the far reaching and extensive policy issues that have come from Covid restrictions....since they effect you know every single aspect of our lives. I take it these experts are experts in epidemiology, immunology, psychiatry, paediatric care, geriatric care, economics, education, supply chain, statistical alaysis, chemistry, pharmacueticals, politics, etc.....

And if the experts you are talking about do not have qualifications in all of these fields and many more then it's an amalgamation of experts that you are referring to? So those people all have the same opinion? Amazing. Just amazing.

As for lacking common sense. Yeah, you see this is where people like you who have zero ability to reason an argument out always fall down. What country was the first to mandate mask wearing indoors and outdoors?
What country was the first to recommend double masking? What country was the first then to stop recommending double masking in favour of advising its citizens to use FFP2 respirators?

What country has the 9th highest rate of per million? The answer to all of the above is Czech Republic.

What country never had a mask mandate ever? What country never had a lockdown? What country never folded to the hysteria? What country has one of Europe's lower death rates from Covid? Lower than countries like France, UK, Belgium, Italy, Spain, etc? That country is Sweden. That scenario is repeated all over the place with countries who had loose Covid restriction policies out performing those who had strict lockdowns.

Now common sense would suggest that indicates that these masking policy and lockdown policies had little or no effect. But what people like you actually do is say that this is cherry picked data. You ignore the fact that you can't actually make a logical argument against it. Why? Because your logic would say that masking reduces deaths by 80% so Sweden death rate should be stratospheric...but its not much to your disappointment.

No, you'd rather listen to the results of some incredibly limited and most likely flawed research that tells you the opposite of what you see is true. It's amazing how people will listen to nonsense which clearly seems wrong and at odds with reality so long as it has come from a University or Journal.
