Remember seeing an old GMBN video where Scotty and Martyn Ashton (of ALL people) said it wasn't cool to wear Full Face helmets on trail bikes. The majority of their viewers are new to the sport and if someone wants to wear a full face on any trail then that's up to them. If they're new to MTB then safety is paramount, it was super irresponsible of them to suggest they'd look clueless wearing one.

Honestly that single video pissed me off to the point where I can't get on with those guys, you'd think the chap in the wheelchair would know better...

I agree. I wear one most days im riding parks or natural really techy stuff. Who gives a shit what protection you choose. I think that mentallity comes from the notion that you are making a "statement" of speed, ambition and talent by wearting a full face. Bollocks I say.

Wearing a full face while riding Xc isn’t cool at all. I always find riding uphill in a full face to be terrible in terms of ventilation

Sorry that it upset you to that extent, I stand in saying that both of us encourage anyone to get into mountain biking. From memory it was a fun video we'd created of trends we suggested to follow or not to follow created in a harmless way.

Anyway, I hope anyone who listened has enjoyed my journey and that your own personal opinion can be swayed!

@ScottyLaughland: fair reply. I'd consider removing that video as I checked back earlier today and a lot of the top comments tend to resolve around the helmet.

If your that scared of mountain biking that you need to wear a fullface whilst riding XC you honestly probably shouldn’t be doing it as there is absolutely no need to wear one whilst riding XC no matter how safety cautious you are, honestly the helmet would make you so hot that it probably goes the other way.

Podcasts aren't for everyone, I totally get that, I am in no way offended if you choose not to listen, and there is tonnes of other forms of media out there for you to enjoy. I'm stoked to have thousands of listeners who do like podcasts, and I really enjoy making content for them, so I guess we're all good.

@aljoburr: a post is hidden if the difference between upvotes and downvotes is 4 or greater. So if a post has 100 downvotes and 110 upvotes it's still visible. It's hidden if it's the other way around.
