Steve Peat Syndicate 2012 Intro

by Duncan Philpott
It’s a new year with some new faces for the 2012 Steve Peat Syndicate downhill team. After the success of the 2011 SPS, Peaty and his crew are back leading the way with this unique race team. Open to riders of all ages and abilities, the SPS is a blend of first time national series riders to experienced racers starting out in world cup racing. The team is all about having fun on your bike whilst developing the riders riding and race craft. Drawing on Steve’s unmatched experience in downhill racing, riders will improve through the season and we’ll no doubt be seeing a load more podiums from the SPS team this year

2012 welcomes Fox, Shimano and Enve as new supporters of the Steve Peat Syndicate. The Santa Cruz V10’s are looking and riding better than ever, paired up with the awesome Fox suspension – the riders on SPS are feeling like they’ve won the bike lottery jackpot!

A new and exciting addition to the Steve Peat Syndicate this year is an Enduro team. Heading up the team will be Neil Donoghue, a seasoned world cup downhill rider with arguably one of the smoothest styles on a bike. Donny already has a solid set of results on the enduro scene and will be looking to carry on his podium form for 2012. Team mate to the “The Don” will be Chris Griffiths, another skilled rider who raced elite back in the day for Muddy Fox. Chris rode for the SPS Downhill team last year and along with his super fitness, will make a great pairing with Donny. The Enduro boys will be running Santa Cruz Nomads and Blur TRC’s depending on the terrain. Look out for these guys on a podium!

Check out this video from Peaty, he’ll tell you about the exciting changes for SPS in 2012, his hopes for the year and will give you an insight into the Steve Peat Syndicate. Here’s to a great seasons racing, Cheers!

I wish I could join the team! The best bikes, solid training and coaching, and being able to ride with Peaty (which would be amazing, just in itself)! Have fun for me too, gents!

And I just remembered to 'mension' that you need to learn to spell.

The bike itself would probably cost more than that to build up, throw in custom graphics, two sets of kit, body armour, professional mechanic at races, coaching by the worlds most winningest downhill rider and the overall team atmosphere, and you've got one hell of a good deal.
