After releasing my first Tutorial video a few weeks ago on the trials bike, I have been inundated with calls to do one on the MTB so here it is.

While I certainly appreciate these videos and the effort people put into making them (thanks Duncan). What I really need is a “How NOT to wheelie” video to show me all the things people do wrong and how to correct them.

the only answer is "not practice long enough". I thought I would never learn, but what finally made it click wasn't youtube video #20, it was spending 20 hours in a damn parking lot failing over and over

try harder

@olslash: yeaaah same here, i used to go to university on a ss, then i built my mtb and started doing wheelies all the time from my house to uni, now i can do them a lot better. It's just practice.

@olslash: yep.. That really is the only way! Alot of the pb keyboard warriors would would have a hard time finding 20hrs to spare..

I learned wheelies and manuals by riding to work and trying to increase the number of sidewalk squares I could cover while doing each. Do it the whole way to work. After a week, you can do it almost as long as you want...

@takeiteasyridehard: a week? Wow u must be talented then.. I'm on year two for manuals and still can't even come close to "as long as I want".

Best way too learn wheelies is to tie a mattress too the back of your frame so that if you flip back you have something soft too land on?

He's hopeless - I can get my wheelie up and done in a few pedal strokes. He needs a whole lot of them to do his wheelies Wink

Nice to see the mountain bike this time, makes us feel loved. Thanks Duncan - Big Hug.

is it important to have 12 ft of cable coming out the front of your bike?

Probably has it set up to do barspins

an incline made it much easier for me to master as it helps with speed control if you don't like breaking when wheelieing.

Same here, I've learnt to wheelie properly over the last few years and an incline really helps as does getting over feeling silly about learning to wheelie at the age of 40 ????

White men can't jump. I can't wheelie. And yes, the sea is salty.

All the clips are in slow-mo because he can't even wheelie that far... what a dork

Awesome that it's on an MTB. Thanks for hearing us!

Can't wheelie standing up. Dropper posts are the best thing since sliced bread, but also cost like it.

 What about one handed?

Easy: same but with one hand off
