5 Key Stats From Women in the Pinkbike State of the Sport Survey 2024
I'm watching Transition's team with great interest this season. They are clearly backing the young women in racing, and I expect in the next few years we will see those riders become very successful. Its neat what Transition is doing, but as you said, maybe they could be making a big f'ing deal about it in marketing. But I suppose quietly going about their business is kinda cool too.

Video: Do Lightweight eMTBs Enhance the Traditional Experience?
Its unlikely to be the extra weight as much as the extra laps. Both because people can do more laps on an e-bike, and also because there are people out there on ebikes that would otherwise not be there (wouldn't ride a mountain bike due to fitness, age, etc) doing laps. Its a blessing and a curse. bummer they are messing with long standing features. I think its only a matter of time before many of our trail org's are having to have similar conversations.

@DCF: I took a lap with a college XC racer who claimed he did almost exactly that. Said he hammered it, returned it and went and bought a YT Izzo. Who knows.

Whenever I go check other similar MTB websites, the content is so interspersed with ad content to make the articles almost difficult to follow at times. I don't find much to complain about on pinkbike. Ad revenue to pay the bills is just the internet these days. There is no getting away from it. PB does a decent job of navigating it compared to everyone else, and does a lot of way cooler stuff that other MTB sites (PB racing).

State of the Sport Full Release & Comparison - Part 2
@Fill-Freakin: to paraphrase my undergrad physiology professor, the test is hematocrit level, which is apparently VERY difficult to get above, say, 50, without doping (exercise alone)...thus if it is over 50, it is very likely one is doping, and perhaps there are rules pertaining to a certain level. But in a game of grams and milliseconds, I would assume everyone is s trying to keep it right at the acceptable level.
