It's a good article and even better handwriting, I just meant to point out that the digital age makes your eyes lazy.. But, it's still nice to see a different format.
This is just sad. We as people need to write more. Our history is being recorded on computers. Without electricity our computers are useless. With real writing we can have a better chance to preserve who we are. Great job Dylan!
Somewhat crazy to see people semi-slagging cursive. Writing - actual, hand writing - is a dying art and I applaud Mr. Sherrard's creativity. I for one totally dig the mellow feel and presentation of this article - kind of a nice change from the endless stream of adrenaline-addled dubstep DH videos. There's a reason these are called storytellers. Reading Dylan's words, I can picture myself on that patio, or sitting around that fire telling war stories with friends, or freezing my ass of in pouring rain at Whistler, or hopelessly lost in the backcountry trying to jimmy-rig a broken rear derailleur and not get eaten by bears, knowing that as much as the experience sucks right now it will be one hell of a story later. Wild rides indeed.
Cheers Dylan!
Dylan, this is awesome! You've created a great atmosphere with layout and presentation – it's great to see people going outside their comfort zones to play with new ideas. You're a true ambassador for sport, keep that humility and enthusiasm going!
Dylan is a poet and I agree with him enjoying the first morning cofee before a ride, cofee from Veracruz or Chiapas as good as the best Colimbian before a 20km downhill in Sierra Gorda Queretaro just makes it better. Ohh and yes...we old people still know the art of manuscript, you should try it.
Cheers
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was skeptical about trying something new with this, but happy to hear that people are enjoying it. Isn't it funny how our eyes can't read cursive writing on autopilot, the same way they can read text without us giving it any thought?
Dylan, this is art on several levels. You've mixed photography, poetic creative writing, a cursive font (I just learned that that's what it is from the comments - I always thought it was called 'handwriting' LOL) and combined it into an intriguing artistic presentation. I for one would never have thought to photograph text like you did here. Congrats on putting in the time and effort to post a great piece!
