As with every trade show, there are always some great-looking custom bikes that are either custom-made for tradeshows or have been sent straight from World Cup or EWS races. Here are some of the best we spotted in the halls of Eurobike.

Ti spindle pedals, loads of unanodized aluminum, difficult to service hose routing. They're like show cars with 800hp built motors and flashy paint but no windshield wipers.

@wyorider: whats bad about un-anodised a;uminium? As a fan of polished metal it pisses me off that everything ally comes pre anodised. How i wish for wheels of polished brass, stainless & aluminium.

@wyorider: a show bike is for show! People these days, making maintenance tricky!

@Kebabroll: every…..single…..ride you have to shine those parts up with Mothers Mag or whatever your local equivalent is or the parts corrode and get pitted, eventually until they’re structurally unsound.

Pure trade show carousel flash at the expense of function.

@Gwizard: this isn’t the auto industry. I’d like to think that at least a large proportion of high end bikes actually see double black trails more than the inside of a climate controlled garage.

Climbing gear has zero fat because it has to be light, durable, and affordable(ish). That’s what I want from a bicycle (road, mountain, commuter, whatever). The mission creep from functionality to “style” is always to the detriment of bicycles.

Let good engineers do the design-not “designers” with art degrees and no understanding of metallurgy, failure analysis etc.

@wyorider: I had my aluminum dh frame stripped before last season and was worried about the maintenance and corrosion but ended up leaving it raw because I liked the look. Haven't touched it other than buffing out a few surface scratches and it still looks exactly the way it did when I got it back from the blaster. Raw aluminum components being difficult and corroding immediately is a myth.

@wyorider: i'll polish the raw aluminium parts on my moxie like once a year, that's enough. i don't like that each and every part today comes in black only, silver parts just give such a classy vibe.

Both of the bikes look like they have never seen dirt. All just marketing!

@Tsoxbhk: ever heard of washing your bike? new tires perhaps? There's literally videos of him riding the DH bike.

@danielfloyd: @Tsoxbhk: The Spark was just recently finished, I think just in time for this show. soooo. . . maybe he hasn't had time to ride it.
  • 5 0
@Tsoxbhk: should check his instagram, they do get ridden. The DH; hard!

@wyorider: ackshually… if you do a good job buffing raw aluminum, it closes the pores of the metal and it doesn’t tarnish or corrode the way raw machined aluminum might. On top of that you could also clear powder coat it if you wanted.

Dangerholm steals the show even without his quads.

The Copper/Turquoise paint on the fuzz... wow
  • 17 0
Whoever set these up clearly doesnt know the golden rule that cranks must always be horizontal for pictures
  • 4 0
Most of the bikes are mounted by the cranks so they can't level them if the mounting point is too high/low.
  • 2 0
the non drive stand crank arm is bolted to the stand, to prevent theft
  • 11 0
 I'm hoping that's authentic 2016 dirt on Nino's bike.

No option for the prequel: "Schurter's Spark VS Fluckiger's Lightrider". I'd have voted for that, then complained about it after because someone else won.

Dangerholm build is mental.....from A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

I believe this is Phoebe Gale's Sender...

 You‘re right. Tahnee‘s doesn‘t have any blue in it…
  • 1 0
It is Tahnee's is pink, magenta and orange
  • 3 0
 that orange-pink combo hurts
  • 17 1
 I love it.
  • 1 0
It hurts because it should be pink-orange-lettuce greeen. Pink-blue is not to my taste.
  • 4 1
No Dangerholm bike is complete without a pair of the shortest shorts
  • 3 0
Please, we need a full bike check on Dangerholms Scott Spark!

Is that something like an inverted DT Swiss Dropper post? Or what is it, that comes out of the seat tube there?
  • 1 0
Yes it is, they make them inverted like this.
  • 1 0
@i-am-lp: wow.. never seen.. wonder why that would be better than the normal way around...
  • 1 3
@saladdodger: same reason as inverted forks, it pushes dirt down & away from the seal
  • 1 0
Nino when he used to run glued-on tires

Thomus makes some of the best looking xc bikes. I would love to see some longer travel bikes from them.
  • 1 0
Thomus, the only branding I know that resembles a ransom note
  • 3 3
 Who's "Sam Reynold"?
  • 11 0
 a singular Sam Reynolds
