Kate Courtney top 5- would be so cool to see her return to the podium more frequently this year!

 That would be sick

It would be cool as hell to see Kate kickass again.

Good start for Kate- let’s go!

I'm glad her new coach seems to be working out for her. I wonder what changes they made in her training?

 Jenn Jackson on the charge!!!

 What a last lap!

 Woooo!!!!

 Go Jenn Go!

I guess Evie not knowing much technical detail about her bike on the recent bike checks segment didn't hold her back. She does know how to ride it fast, that's for sure!

At the end of the day, as long as she's bringing home the metal, that's all that matters.

Cutting remark there from Gaze to WB/D in his post-race interview.
  • 2 0
 What did he say?
  • 13 0
@ericolsen: it was along the lines of "I'm glad people back home could see the race, it was a last minute call"

The commentators said something about a "beef" between Gaze and his team, Alpecin. Anyone know what's up?
  • 4 1
@PapaStone: so basically what think has happened is that without other riders going to Brazil Alpecin De Keunick have not sent any MTB rider infrastructure or support to Brazil rather like Ineos (No PFP because of this as all resources are supporting Pidcock at Ardennes Road Classics for the next few weeks) so Sam has probably been left high and dry by the Team who despite being a multi disciplinary subordinate MTB in their priorities. Obviously, if Puck Pieters had decided to go then things might be different but basically others had to help out (maybe Canyon) in order to get Sam from NZ to Brazil and support him while he there. Pretty shit state of affairs if you ask me if that is indeed the case (of course it might not be as I might not be aware of the true real circumstances).

Kate Courtney and Jenn Jackson - Awesome results!

So happy for Henderson and Courtney! Evie looking strong as! Also rooting for Neff and Rissveds. Gonna be a good season if the opening XCC is anything to judge by! Where was Leona?

I’d really like to see Luca bottle it for the last part of the race. The guy is so strong, but when the main action happens, he’s been on the front and missed out.
Second isn’t anything to scoff at, but I bet he could win many more.

I agree. Luca races from the front, which is great in some ways, but the dude could race a bit smarter and do better while still being an aggressive racer.

Seems like no more Bart Brentjens in the commentary box?
  • 4 0
 sad.
  • 3 0
Maybe he'll cover the European races given that Avancini was doing the honours in his home country
  • 3 0
I couldn't watch the race so can't comment what actually went on, but noticed beforehand on Instagram when Eurosport announced the team for the weekend both were listed - Bart as an expert and Avancini as a guest. So maybe they're actually trying to listen to the earlier comments (especially on the DH side) and get injured or ex riders in the booth more?

This is the exact style of racing that can be easily presented and consumed by fans. Easy to perceive due to small tracks/multiple laps..... So much better than time-trial racing. I love it.

 Luca, what a gentleman.
  • 3 0
 Lets gooooo Vidaurre!
  • 2 0
Need Bart and Rob back on the commentary

I lost a lot of money betting that ric would say "The Big Kiwi" and I didn't hear it once.

What happened to PFP and Mona Mitterwallner? Did they not start?
  • 1 0
She did not make the trip
  • 5 0
PFP is staying at home to train for the Olympics and Mitterwallner is sick from the Cape Epic.

Whats up with Evie shirt? Dutch national champ or am I missing something?
  • 4 0
British national champs jersey is red white and blue bands on a white background. NL are the same bands on orange
  • 1 0
@ROOTminus1: thank you, did not know that
  • 1 1
Any chance nationally can be added to the lists?
  • 7 0
Yeah sure, there should be rider nationality in the result tables now.
  • 1 1
 @edspratt: I'm afraid it's still not visible
  • 3 4
The 3 best riders were missing…Puck, PFP and Mona.
  • 3 5
 Ric on the Mic.
