Sam Hill was so close to his first win but would have to settle for second by .8 of a second.

After months of speculation, teasing, and trolling, the EWS rumors season is coming to a close. The EWS has released the team list, which lists all of the athletes and official teams that will be participating in EWS events.

Most of the big news has already been announced but there are some more moves to dig into as well including multiple teams that have yet to have their rider lists announced including Specialized Enduro, Forbidden Synthesis, Juliana Free Agents, Yeti / OneUp PRO Team and the Yeti / Fox Factory Team could be seeing some new faces as their roster has also not been revealed

So Specialized, Forbidden, Juliana or Yeti for Winton then?
  • 9 0
Hoping one of them pick her up
Would be a damn shame if she was left out this year unless it’s her call
  • 3 0
@hainman: it almost sounded like she was alluding to that though. She’s been a ghost on Instagram.

 Let’s hope so

THIS! Hoping hard that Katy will be able to race this year.* Consistent top 10 finisher, 3rd overall in 2018... hard to imagine no team would want to pick her. No news on her FB or Instagram though...

(*Unless she decided to not race of course.)

@hainman: you'd hope Specialized would have a substantial team seeing as you could argue that is their main market for bikes and smaller companies have 4+riders on board. Be good to see some Scottish adventure edits with her and Hannah Barnes too (post sprog).
  • 2 0
@djlucas: ould be good to see ``katy riding with Hannah barnes on Spesh,2 scottish lassies on the one team,

@Gmang: i seen her post a month or so ago, saying she was taking a while off Social media,Be a shame to see her left on the sidelines and for Trek to bin her to make way for "Bigger stars"They would have binned Recce wilson had he not won the worlds....
shes defo a big rider with loads of Talent

For sure, I really don't understand the move, let her go and hold on to Ellen Noble?? WTF has Ellen Noble done in the last two years results wise? Nothing. And, as someone who used to follow her on Instagram, she doesn't produce any good content either. At least Katy Winton is entertaining.

@hainman: I reckon the 2 them would make a great pair for that brand and for mtb in general! If she doesn't have a hook up tho I would she still races inners and smokes everyone as a privateer and puts 2 fingers up to the trek tent! Haha
  • 1 0
Been wondering where she'll go after her announcement of departimg with trek. I hope it's Yeti, her and Richie is a strong podium team, also hoping for an edit with her and joe schusler.

Bit of a crime winton has no place yet, while wannabes still hold a team deal

Is amazing that such a consistent and entertaining rider cant get a sponsor, mind blowingly sad. I hope she finds a sponsor or unless she wants to take time off bc of health reasons.

I really think it's yeti for some reason
  • 2 0
I'm thinking one of two things with Katy..

1) Teams possibly cutting back a bit in what will likely be a shortened season.

Or

2) She's taking some extra time to make sure she comes back at 100%. Concussions can linger..

Surprised Scott don’t have a team
  • 1 0
@hainman: or Ella Connolly, she's been smashing it as a privateer so hopefully she'll get a go on a team
  • 1 0
Very true she’s a great rider too
I thought she was on with Canondale @johnnyboy11000:

Still waiting for Viathon Walmart Team.

Yeti / OneUp PRO headlined by Kasper Wooley!
  • 1 0
 You forget about Richie?
  • 1 0
@freeridejerk888: He'll be headlining the Yeti / Fox version
  • 2 0
For sure and perhaps a 'forever young' Jared Graves might be teamed up with him?
  • 2 1
Bet Kasper is the only Yeti rider (Canadian) to do international travel!

Correction: "EWS publishes partial 2021 team list"
  • 1 0
It's also a little confusing because some of the racers listed on the ews teams will actually be racing in the ews-e, such as Nico, Barel, and Borges. I think Borges actually raced both last year.

 What is a development team?

Kevin Miquel will be in a top team in 2021.

The Sunn Enduro Team Instagram saw all its posts deleted, and was retitled Specialized Enduro Team. So I guess we have the answer !

So, Cecile is not going to race anymore, is she? So sad ...

"Her doctors tell her that were she to suffer another big crash that added mass would likely mean that the fused vertebrae would impact either above or below causing a clean break, killing her, or leaving her tetraplegic - with no sensation below the neck." — Jun 30, 2020 by Matt Wragg

@dolores: sounds like a solid reason to stop racing
  • 3 0
so sad, such a champion! She didnt slightly win, she totally dominated. I hope she feel that she achieved what she wanted in her career at least. Hopefully she can guide/teach/manage younger riders.

Surprised that kilian bron isn’t racing.
  • 3 0
Still room for the privateers not on trade teams, much like DH. So Stuttard for example is not on a trade team as such (?) but is effectively a privateer riding for ...,erm ,I forget their name...?

Prayers up for Leo Kokkonen racing a full EWS schedule whilst running Pole.

I am pretty confident Katy will be riding this year, from the team's left to publish their rider list I would suspect she will be on Specialized. Whilst it would be awesome to see her on a team with Ritchie Rude I just can't see Yeti going to the expense of developing an extra small race bike for her to race on. It would also be mint to see the Forbidden Dreadnaught get a good go on the EWS circuit however It would be an even bigger ask of them to develop a smaller frame. It doesn't make sense to me for her to be on Juliana as you would like to think Santa Cruz would want to join in on the team and overall competition with bringing a mixed team of big name riders rather than exclude that with a 2nd women's team. I could be totally wrong on my assumptions, she could be doing her own thing and building a team around her like Isabel did.

Pretty sure Yeti can find a bike that she can ride ...

Jose Borges to canyon, i missed some news

 Melanie Pugin?
Matt Stuttard??

Did Peugeot cycles in all honestly register their E-EWS-Team in the EWS Roster, or are there simply to many "Es" involved to not get confused.

would be fun to see connor and blenki racing more EWS

 And joe Barnes on orange!
  • 3 0
 No cannondale?
  • 2 0
Joe Barnes not racing or do I need Specsavers?
  • 2 0
No Barnes, No Lew Buchanan. I hope they will go as privateers, if not the second hope is at least to have more entertaining videos coming
  • 1 0
@Zmagas: not sure about Barnes but Buchanan has been busy prepping for race season so would be surprised if he wasn't there at least
  • 2 0
 Rhys Werner??
  • 3 0
 Heard is on forbidden
  • 1 0
Where is Charlie Murray on pivot???
  • 5 0
He's going to be on a different team (one of the ones that hasn't been announced yet). I have a feeling it's going to be Specialized Enduro. I would have though Yeti, but on Downtime podcast, he talks about riding a DH bike nonstop lately, which would exclude YETI and Forbidden.
  • 1 0
Hes on specialized. NZ Nationals podium pic is in a special t shirt

 @Jimmy0:

Nice! I feel like a real sleuth, hah. His interview on Downtime was freaking fascinating. I had no idea of his story. Dude didn't get his first full-suspension bike and race his first enduro until like 3 years ago. Sky is the liimt for him, and I'll be curious to see how much of a push he tries to make into Downhill this season.

@Hogfly: I just kept thinking that's where all my talent went! Lol

 No cecile ravanel??

 ChazMaz on Specialized
