@kleinblake: well his video showed much hard efforts, mixed with sarcasm...best combo
  • 4 2
@kleinblake: he definitely dicks around too. I saw him in Finale Ligure mid season last year and he was smashed at 11pm drunkenly riding low rider bikes around the square. It was so refreshing to see a top athlete being so messily drunk

5000m elevation per week is his training rule. Pretty big numbers!
  • 10 20
flag triptex (Jul 7, 2019 at 18:08) (Below Threshold)
@tomlynchwatson: That's solid for sure but given the right location and schedule (no "real" job) its not that hard to hit those numbers. I work fulltime and have 2 kids under 5. My last week was 75km and 3200m without my wife starting to get on my case and only 7.5h of saddle time. If I didn't have to work my very real job I'd ride 10-30h a week.

Don't get me wrong. Ed is a beast and he's earned this win!

Hell fuckin yeahhhh Eddie boy!!!! Holy shit this is awesome!!
  • 2 0
@kleinblake: I think it was blenkinsop saying on a training ride with Eddie masters they went 90km at full xc race pace then rode bike park all day the next day
  • 2 1
@triptex: I’d have to ride my local 8 times in one week to get those numbers. Honestly if your doing that much and you’re not training for EWS what are you even doing? Chill out go and session some corners. Wink
  • 1 0
@thenotoriousmic: Some area have more terrain to ride and everybody rides differently. Some people climb more and some cover more distance. I tend to ride alone to corner sessions would get boring quickly.

Forge the distances and elevations, if you didn't have to work or go to school would you not spend +10h a week riding your bike?

Is it just me or did this really just happen....

Eddie: Hey, Berie can Mat and I go off and do the EWS this weekend, I know its last minute but we just wanna ride our bikes?
Bernie: Should be cool Ed, let me just check with the bosses...
Bernie: bring bring, hey bosses, can Ed and Mat head off to race the EWS rather than the Dh this weekend?
Bosses: no bother, tell the lads to have some fun.
Bernie: Ed, yeh, you are good to go ride your bike rather than get a few Dh laps in.
Eddie: Sweet, thanks boss. shouts> Mat, lets go shred some sick trails.
Mat: Sick, seeya boys, enjoy your blown out dust fest dh race with a 1 min crappy pedal at the top.

Roll on a few days.
Bosses: Well that worked out well, an EWS win and a 9th from the boys and Bernie was doing really well in the Dh before a crash so got some exposure.

Wyn: FFS, Ed is never gonna shut up about this, but really I am super stoked and proud of ma bro and just wanna party with him to celebrate.
Cathro: mmmm I made that comment about Ed heading off to the Enduro in my video before the race and how I am Dh and Enduro is easier to win than Dh but... he only went and won the bloody race...

I'll upvote your comment because I also see the world in cutaways. lol

 so should i get a firebird29 or a sb150 now?
  • 4 0
 both?
  • 2 2
get a Firebird if you like squishy comfortable bikes and the Yeti if you like stiff efficient bikes. Or test both if possible, but a Yeti demo in Europe is difficult unfortunately...
  • 4 1
pivot is far less complicated than that Yeti, and the pivot rides nicer-ive ridden both at demos. I own an evil, but, really want that pivot.
  • 1 2
Sb150 has room for a water bottle. It's hard to even take bikes like the firebird serious without that.
  • 2 0
I would prefer the Firebird over the Yeti because of the complexity of the Yetis suspension (Switch Infinity Link)
  • 6 0

Yeeeah Eddie! An impressive season has hit its climax...or maybe not?! Now everything is possible.

Isabeau is unbeatable. If she doesnt get injured, she will have a perfect season. Stunned by Raphaela!!!

Downside: Didnt notice Ella Conolly's injury until it was to late to edit my fantasy team - otherwise this could have been a top ten for me Frown
