Womens XC delivering the best racing... again. Loved the overtake by Rissveds up the biggest rock slab on the second lap. The fight for the win was as good as it gets. Lenzerheide will be awesome.

 Great racing, ladies!

 Jenny is back ????????

Great to see her making further progress back to her Olympic form. She keeps it up and she'll be back on the top step of the podium before long. It'll be very interesting to see how she follows up next weekend. Looking forward to it already.

Also great to see PFP back in great form after her surgery earlier this year and the struggle she's had for the past couple of years. First win in 2 or 3 years IINM.

Rough weekend for KC. Another item of interest will be to see how she bounces back next week on the course she got her stripes. ???

Great race Ladies. Enjoyed it throughly.

Stoked for Jenny - she used to have a little now she's got a lot.

@Augustus-G: It was 2015 when PFP used to ride away from everyone

@MuddyFoxCourierComp: Longer than in initially thought. Her last UCI Series win was Windham, NY Aug. 9th 2015. So just a few days short of 4 years. She ended up 10th in the overall and won the World Championship.

The women’s race was unbelievable! The final lap was epic! Jenny is an inspiration and has encouraged me by her fight to overcome her inner demons, which I too am struggling with too.

Under 23 XCO Women was also won by a Canyon rider...

Tell me about it; ordered a Grail, and had about 3-4 e-mails about delays - in the end cancelled; have ordered a Grand Canyon and it's actually being packed.....

The silver bikes have been absolutely bad luck for KC at both Vallnord and now at Val Di Sol. Hard hitting race analysis, I know.

 Yessss PFP!

PFP «c'est la classe», which in pro roadie cycling slang means power with a capital P. I really liked how PFP keep her head cool, she has more experience than Neff and did « le metier ». Perfect race craft but now Neff knows she should drop her off before the sprint at all cost!

Glad to see Rissveds again on the top

Nail biting stuff in the womens race! I was crossing my fingers for Pauline! Great race from her and Neff. VdP is a beast when he's on form. Shame about the flat tyre for Kirchbaumer

Hats off to PFP!!! On her days, if the track favours her, she is quite a threat, whipping the competition in both Cycle Cross, Road and Mountain Bike even before MVDP did it!
  • 1 0
Let's take a moment to realize that MVDP is already within ONE short track win (exactly 116 points if I do the maths correctly) to pass Schurter in the overall in terms of points... I mean... Pffweeeeh....
Does someone knows wether he's gonna do Snowshoe or not?
  • 5 0
He will not be in Snowshoe. He will be preparing the road World Champs.
  • 3 0
The ladies overall changed a lot. Neff took the lead over Courtney after the short and main events. The finish to the season for the overall will be interesting.

I don't really follow XC, but looking at the men's list I don't see one from USA...do we just suck at men's XC?
  • 2 0
Keegan Swenson has been in some WC XCs this year. He just won the US Champs, so it's possible he's resting up for the North American rounds of the WC in Canada and the U.S.
  • 4 0
One reason is culture. The US is much less Cyclocentric than Europe. Most of our best young athletes are much more focused on stick & ball sports. It is getting a bit better with High School Cycle Teams and such but we're still a very long way behind the youth programs I've read about in Europe.

@Augustus-G: only have to watch 5min of Tour de France or any Belgium cyclocross event to see how much passion the public has for cycling. Quite bizzare to see young and old, male and female, screaming their liungs out in support of some, seemingly oblivious, bike racer.
Over here, its rugby, cricket and netball. Not much else gets any attention at all.
  • 2 0
@Augustus-G: Will also add that when >98% of all the major cycling races/events are in Europe, it adds to the culture difference too. All the "spring classics" and "monuments" of Belgium/Holland are stuck in a region of Europe that is essentially the same geographic size as West Virginia! Similar for much of cyclocross season too. Bike racing is everywhere and unavoidable to locals.

My women’s fantasy team struggled today, but 1st and 2nd in men’s. Both races were great racing.

 Well played, Pauline !

Just WOW, what a day of racing!

If nino came third, what on earth did I watch on Saturday before the dh? Where he won his sixth race of the season? Was that a 2018 re-run??
  • 1 0
Most probably. They raced on sunday.
  • 2 0
 New cards on the table.
  • 4 3
So we can have 75 women start a cross country but what is it 15 in DH?
  • 6 0
They had an 11 second difference between 1st and 2nd at the last race. The field isn't competitive enough to have 75 racers.
  • 4 0
@Someoldfart - You are confusing outcome (what you want) with opportunity (what we have). Every single elite woman in DH who entered a round this year has been allowed to have a qualifying run to try and participate on race day. In fact, there's a higher % of slots available for women than men, when comparing race day slots to the entrant field size.

@Adamrideshisbike - Couldn't even get 75 riders...right now only at 1/3 that figure (25 who showed up this weekend). There's definitely a shortage of female entrants every round, with the ability for more women to enter (just need 40 UCI points or to be submitted by national federation). I'm sure the UCI would love to have them, too.

Bottom line is it's not any qualifying limit causing it.
