Great to see XCM get some more attention. It's not the kind of race I would watch all the time but it's more like the kind of riding I do than XCO.

 You ride for 5 hours?

@generictrailrider: Yes. Not usually close to home, but the rides I like best are all day epics. About once a year I rise an XCM race in the recreational start group and finish in 6 hrs what the winner did in 4h20 or so

MTB Marathon is still the most popular MTB racing discipline in terms of participants. Lots of races have easily over 1000 racers, even up to 17.000 at the Birkebeinerrittet.
For the new riders and racers: It's kinda like Gravel racing, just a bit more exciting with single trails and fun stuff. ;-)
Hopefully they'll have a live coverage soon, that 10min recap looked good, but they rushed too quickly through it.

Is that an error or did a 12 year old actually come in 56th for the men? If so...holy shit

 Someone didn't czech the numbers. He's 18: www.uci.org/rider-details/1068360

The age of all the riders is actually wrong. But hey, there off by only 6 years

@chri92: impressive performance from #75 Nicolas Sire at 45 years old...holy shit

The top 5 men's names are familiar because they have raced the Cape Epic but the women's names are not. Get them to the Epic. The women's field was especially weak this year.

Pidcock too busy to win this one?

Just watched the highlights, very nice coverage, and some proper natural rockgarden action, not just a road race on dirt.

Seems like a road race finish with 12 riders within 9 seconds.

Remember the old days when it wasn't difficult to pronounce the riders names?

@likeittacky: International is an actual thing.

@likeittacky: Bravo. Now go back to your unicycle and pedal to the library. There, you will find some books which are showing that world is not revolving arround you or your culture.

@SasaAbazovic : The point is more about how these days parents will name their offspring with the goofiest and most complex names, like some kinda starchild, believing the mystic ball of name choice is gaining the Child some sorta superiority and attention than just being a normal human being but rather a prop to enhance their own preconceived notion of prestige.

@likeittacky: As a reminder, the full results list is presented with last name first, then given name.

The given names I see in this list all look really traditional and normal for their countries that they're from
