Not bad for a rally car driver
  • 42 0
He has a decent future in this sport
  • 6 0
And I'm suspecting Brandon's riding compares to mine just as his Subaru compares to mine.
  • 4 0
@learningcycles: someone should really sponsor that kid.
  • 188 0
One thing is apparent... I do not Real Mountain Bike.

Holy shit this guy is pretty much as good as brandon semenuk
  • 4 1
He even looks like him and has the same sponsors
  • 62 0
I was in the Whistler chairlift line last summer and he was a few people back in line. All the kids recognized him and wanted selfies and autographs. He was happy to give the kids some of his time. A class act!
  • 17 0
I'm happy to do that too

Except the restraining order prohibits you @RedBurn:

 @enduroNZ: lovyamate

Brage is real mtb. this is art on two wheels
  • 45 0
That nose bonk to no hander.
  • 35 0
 It was bonkers
  • 3 0
Best trick in any of the clips for me.
  • 1 0
@lewiscraik: The very end reverse handlebar land after multiwhips on a desert lander ledge thing. Thats not enough! woooooooowoeyyyyy.
  • 2 0
@FoesKnows: I’ve always preferred a well executed, stylish trick using terrain, over something more technical. It was the same with snowboarding.

If everybody liked the same, life would be boring.
  • 35 0
Dude has the perfect system. Throw tricks that are so complex you have to watch the video several times over to truly comprehend what he's doing. Then upload them to youtube and watch those extra views add up.
  • 4 0
I rewatch AND set the playback to half speed to see what he's doing sometimes. I REALLY wanna learn to caveman drop and watching this one wasn't really all that helpful. It looked too easy.
  • 2 0
@Avanwin: For a caveman drop try learning on flat ground with a smaller bike. Just fling the bike under you and practice landing on the pedals. It's a pretty simple trick once you get it.
  • 1 0
@DaFreerider44: thanks for the tip! I think the smaller bike part is going to help. Been trying to figure it out on a trail bike But I don't think that's going to happen on flat ground. I'll try on my kids hardtail next. Cheers!

I feel like people just see spins and don’t recognize the amount of new moves Semenuk pulls out in his videos. So many crazy new tricks in here. Cannonball caveman! Nobody’s talking about that? Cork 900!? Superman seatgrab whip to bar? Flip whip nac? A cork 7 bar on a freaking stepdown? All the ridiculous moves he pulled on his DH bike? Not to mention Rupert’s groundbreaking filmmaking. The photography implemented made for such a cool vibe. What a video. Wow.
  • 8 0
Agreed, the 900 and the 720 barspin were ridiculous. Also look at the size of the first gap, look how far out the camera panned to get the shot!
  • 5 0
He just oppo whipped a trailbike on a step down... wtf.
  • 4 0
@kbakes: That was a Session with a Zeb on it. More bonkers than his Nose bonk sui
  • 1 0
 @kbakes: freeeeek yeah!
  • 25 0
I can actually do some of the things that Brandon does. That closing scene at the end, where he's pushing his bike up a hill....yep, got that one down.
  • 1 0
Sitting on my bike looking at a major drop was pretty much copied from me, I'm sure of it.
  • 20 0
Lots of peole here hating... Which is fine... We as MTBer's see Brandon doing this level of stuff regularly. So it almost seems "boring" now.... Keeping in mind this on an XGames platform... Millions who don't MTB or have little insight to our sport are gonna see this and it's gonna blow their minds... Brandon is and always be on another level when it comes to riding. He will definitely be top three for this contest...

Also a Lil grom somewhere is gonna see this... Dust of his dad's old Brodie that been in the garage collecting cobwebs for the last 15 year.... Grab a shovel and start digging away... In 10 years well all be talking about them...
  • 12 0
Seeing his edits must be a trip for all the other pro rally racers that had to lose the podium spots to this 'bike rider'. Waht can't this guy do?
  • 10 0
Just realized i've been doing fake mountain bike for all these years...
  • 7 0
You watch this and quickly become null and void of any concept of physics and reality. Brendon Semenuk steps on a bike and it instantly makes the viewing look like a computer game.

  • 1 0
  • 9 2
I just don't see how anyone can compete in this challenge with Brandon. He's born for this challenge.
  • 22 18
ok, I'll be that guy. This was completely rad-sick-gnar...yes yes yes. But it seemed like I was just watching a bunch of his other edits strung together. Maybe I've just watched so many that I've gotten numb to how amazing a rider he is, but for my money Brage's edit was more MTB in feel, more raw, more tech and more high consequence. Hate away.
  • 6 5
 Right there with you actually.
  • 2 0
Yeah it was more raw. thats about it tho
  • 7 0
Came for the nose bonk. Wasnt disappointed
  • 5 0
That one-hand table is probably the dopest thing in the edit tbh... i expect all kinds of crazy stuff from Semenuk but something so simple and steezy can go a long way
  • 6 0
 This is... Unreal.
  • 3 0
We always say he is "video game" level, but I don't think I could even mash in the amount of combos he is doing on my PlayStation!
  • 3 0
There is Brendon Semenuk riding and then theres me looking like someone threw a sack of potatoes down a hill
  • 3 0
Too short... I need more!!!!! Amazing.
  • 3 0
Gonna have to replay this one a few more times to comprehend
  • 2 0
Who else is looking forward to the director's cut version for all of these?
  • 2 0
Bring back the Ultimate Freeride Challenge!
  • 9 7
 Should've stuck to rally racing
  • 3 0
  • 1 0
A couple months ago a friend new to riding sent me a link to a semenuk vid and told me to “check this guy out!”
  • 2 0
I think he is good in doing things he does.
  • 18 18
While all this slopestyle stuff is super clean and dead impressive I don't think it's nearly as fun to watch as the things McAskill gets up to or as that Brage Vestavik edit.
  • 8 8
True except for the nosebonk-no-hander. Everything else felt like it was from a slopestyle competition.
  • 8 1
@TannerValhouli: Lot of slopestyle stuff in there, but the first move was buuuuurly. Last move also an enormous stepdown. Maybe shouldn't win but what an edit.

flag ripridesbikes (Apr 19, 2021 at 10:06) (Below Threshold)
It felt like we had seen all of this from him before. I might be wrong but I'm not sure there was anything new in there. Not even a new location. It would be sick to see him do a street freeride edit instead of perfect slope style ramps placed in different settings. That being said, of course this was still bad ass and yes, the nose bonk to sui. was DOPE.
  • 10 1
@Avanwin: I think you need to watch again. Pretty sure there were multiple new things.
  • 1 0
  • 5 0
@gemma8788: yeah that first move was absolutely gigantic
  • 5 0
@Avanwin: there was probably about 5 worlds firsts in this edit lol, its mad that semenuks doing such silly stuff its hard to appreciate sometimes
  • 2 0
@Avanwin: there’s more worlds firsts in this edit than any other it’s more technical and harder to pick. Cork 7 bar on step down, hand whip to bar, caveman drop, flip whip nac, switch whip on trail bike the list goes on
  • 6 4
Brage, Danny, then Zink. Great job everyone. Those were all Stellar.
  • 7 1
Yep, I haven't decided if Danny or Cam get #2 for myself, but Brage is taking #1 on my list.
  • 2 0
900 on an MTB, no big deal. What a madman!
  • 2 0
Semenuk is so dialed in and focused, it's unREAL
  • 2 0
 Winner for me. So dialed
  • 1 0
He is so skilled that he might pull even a barspin and tailwhip on a DH rig together
  • 2 0
Just when I thought there couldn’t be any tricks I haven’t seen yet
  • 2 0
So clean, yet filthy at the same time.
  • 1 0
I really like the push he seems to be making for the caveman in a few of his parts. Keep 'em comin'
  • 1 0
Are early 2000s tricks making a comeback? I hope he got Bearclaw's permission to do a one-handed tabletop!
  • 3 0
One hand tables were never and will never be out of style.
  • 1 1
Brandon can post a video of him just floating a table top over some doubles for a minute and he'll still get my vote. So smooth.
  • 1 0
Is this the first time we've seen someone manual across a whale tail in a slopestyle or freeride edit?
  • 2 0
  • 4 7
Super impressive, not a question about that. Dude has you watching most of the tricks twice to be able to see whats going on. But I'm just gonna throw this out there: Is this worthy of winning a freeride competition titled "real mtb"?
  • 1 1
@BiNARYBiKE: The poll seems to disagree with you
  • 3 0
Not sure if we watched the same clip? I saw him land an opposite 360 flattie into completely natural soil. Of course, you need to build a clean landing to stomp some of those insane tricks but most of them were out in the desert mountain ranges.
  • 1 2
 @BenTheSwabian: the polls are rigged.
  • 2 0
@BenTheSwabian: Someone else can still win the competition and every other entry is still "real mtb". Is Danny MacAskills trials riding "real mtb"? Is DJ Brandt getting towed in by a car "real mtb"? Is Cam Zink hitting DH bike gaps on his own property "real mtb" in a sense that you and I can relate to? The answer is yes to all of these and it's silly to try micro-categorize this stuff.
  • 3 2
Sick video but not as aggressive as Zink and Vestavik.
  • 1 0
So beautiful is so many ways.
  • 2 0
 Who came 2nd?
  • 1 0
I dont like the Sound, where are the hornets?
  • 1 0
So sick, most steezy rider in the game.
  • 1 0
First shot is beyond insane!! Got my vote just for that one.
  • 1 0
Well, HOLY SHIT! He is good.
  • 1 0
Not even that impressive for someone who is clearly a biking robot.
  • 1 0
  • 2 1
 i think he cheated
  • 1 0
 This. Is. SO. Rad
  • 1 0
 Show off lol
  • 1 0
 Looks like Semenuk
  • 1 0
 And the winner is.
  • 2 4
The opening feature was a banger, but then everything after felt expected and sorta bland.
  • 2 4
Riding is ridiculous but the tune and editing ruin it.
