 Given my understanding there's only one race left in the 2021 season (Snowshoe),it looks like Thibault Daprela is on track to take a maiden overall. From 5th overall last year, to overall champion one disrupted year later. Pretty darn impressive

 I think this is why people argue if world champs or world cup overall is more impressive.

To win the world cup, you gotta finish em all and collect consistent points all the way. You don't necessarily need to be first every time, so are you the fastest? No, but you are fast and the most consistent. You can win overall by blocking and playing the game and collecting some points. If someone has several mechanicals or flats out of their control, they probably won't win the overall, but if they come in and dickstomp the last half of the season, they can't win the overall either.

To win world champs, you have to be the outright fastest on the day.

 @Bomadics: I'm a fan. It's a bit cold for me, but really gives a good cardio workout.

 @zstover: "You can win overall by blocking and playing the game and collecting some points" - I can see some circumstances where that's true, but Daprela's been 2nd/1st/2nd/4th - it's not like he's adding up a bunch of average scores here!

 @MuddyBrit: True. That wasn't a comment on this year, but in a longer season and other sports, it can happen.

 @Lolo-the-frenchie: He's fully right :-)
The French Revolution was a period of major social upheaval that began in 1787 and ended in 1799.
That was so 90ties ..

 Nobody mentioning Vergier in second after sitting an entire race out with a nice fat 0 to start the year. Not to take away from how impressive Thibaut and Loic have been but wow... Also check Goldstone's lead. Nearly double second place. Will be a cool day when he's out puzzling lines in pro practice.
